Alice Kowalski was a 19 year old girl who had moved to Germany to start a new life to get away from her abusive family back in Poland. But what she didn't know is she was about to walk into her living nightmare.
I had just moved to Germany away from my family back in Poland. I had no regrets in what I was doing. I was just glad to get away from home. I was just driving to my new apartment which I had got ahead of time so then by the time I got there it would be ready for me. As I arrived to my apartment, I parked my car in the underground garage and grabbed all my bags. I took one look around and was instantly calmed by the cool breeze and the beautiful night sky. I set my bags down on the ground for a second as I took a few minutes to admire the full moon and stars gleaming right into my eyes. I sighed and smiled. At that moment I realized that I had to get going. I was so excited to go see my apartment so I finished picking my bags up off the floor.
As I was walking to the building where my apartment was, I took a look at it. It wasn't that much of a building. Just a few stories up and very small and old. I couldn't get anything nicer considering I don't exactly have the money right now to buy something more. I sighed and made my was into the small building. I walked to elevator, pressed the button and leaned against the wall waiting.
The elevator came and as I was on my way up, I put my earbuds in my ears and played the song "Lovers rock" by: TV Girl. It was one of the songs I listened to when I needed to relax. I was humming along to the song not paying attention to anything around me. I walked out of the elevator and went down the hall to go find my room.
"Ah ha" I had found my room, got my keys out and started to unlock it. As I got it unlocked I flew the door open and took a good look at my room. It was actually a pretty nice room if I was being honest. It wasn't to big nor to small. It was perfect. I was so tired that I didn't even bother to unpack my stuff. I threw myself onto the bed. It was just a few minutes later I had fallen asleep.

It was now the next morning and I just had gotten out of bed to get breakfast. I didn't feel like making anything at home so I was going to go out instead. I hopped into the shower quickly then got out when I was finished. I did my skincare and makeup. Then I did my hair. Now it was time to pick an outfit. I looked through my clothes and a picked out some low-rise flair jeans with a white blouse, black halter top with a black leather jacket. I also grabbed some earrings, a choker and a black hat to go with it.

I grabbed a small shoulder bag and put some extra makeup just in case, my phone, my headphones and my keys. I got my shoes on and went down to the ground lobby of the building. I was thinking about driving but then just decided to walk because it wasn't that far.
I got the the café and one of the waitresses came up to me to take my order. I was looking through the menu on what to get then something caught my eye. I saw an avocado toast with some fruit on the side. I ordered it and the waitress walked off.
As I was waiting for my food, I texting my friend Camila. Camila was one of my best friends since forever. We could talk about anything to each other no matter what it was. She had moved to Germany a little while before me. Which is why I decided to move here. Camila really felt like my only family considering my family treated me like I was just a piece of trash they found on the floor. I had texted Camila to see if she wanted to hang out after I was done at the café.
• Alice - "Hey Camila ! I'm in a café right now eating so after I'm done do you wanna hang out somewhere ?"
• Camila - "Heyyy Alicee !! Yes ofc we could hang out ! Where were you thinking we should go ?"
• Alice - "I was thinking maybe we could go into town and go to a few of the shops, then stop by the beach later ?"
• Camila - "Yes please. That sounds great !"
• Alice - "Great ! I will text you when I am finished."
• Camila - "Okay, see you soon bae !"
• Alice - "Okey, bye bye !"
As I just finished texting Camila, my food came. I thanked the waitress and started eating. I looked to my right side and saw some random guy looking at me. I looked at him to see if it was really me he was looking at. When I looked at him he winked at me then a huge smile creeped onto his face. I looked at him with a weird expression on my face. " What ?" I said with an annoyed tone. He didn't answer and instead kept staring. I just ignored him because I was not about to have some random person I don't even know ruin my mood.
I finished my food, payed and left. I texted Camila.
• Alice - "Hey Camila. I just finished. Where do you wanna meet up ?"
• Camila - Meet me at the donut shop near the plaza."
• Alice - "Okey, I will be there in a few."
• Camila - "Okay !!"
I left the café and started to make my way down the street. The donut shop was about 2 minutes away so it wasn't that far of a walk.
As I was walking I wasn't looking where I was going and had bumped into someone. "Oh shit, I'm so sorry" I said. I fell on my knees which caused me to scrape it a bit. The man gave me his hand to help me up and had apologized. I took his hand and thanked him. " Are you okay ?" The man asked. "Oh, yes. I'm okay don't worry about it" Just then my knee started bleeding a bit. I groaned and tried to clean it with some wipes I had in my bag. I also had a bandage in my bag so I took one out and put it on my scrape.
I looked up at the man to thank him again but only to be met with his face just inches from mine. When I tell you, this man was tall. Like, really tall. I stood there in silence not knowing what to say or do. He was so close that at this point I could feel him fucking breathing on me. He towered so far over me. His eyes pierced right through mine and it sent chills up my spine. I got some sort of feeling being around him. It almost felt like he was not human. I backed up a bit and took another look at him. He looked somewhat familiar but I couldn't make out who he looked like. "I'm sorry. I have to leave now." I said. The man didn't say anything a just kept looking at me. I walked past the man and looked back at him once more. His eyes still looking right through me.
Honestly it was very weird and creepy but I just brushed it off. I had to meet up with Camila anyways.

After a few minutes I found Camila sitting outside on the curb. "Camila !" I called out to her. The moment she saw me she came running up to me almost attacking me trying to give me a hug. She hugged me so tight I pretty much couldn't breathe. She let go of the hug and I just gave her an awkward smile and shrugged it off with a small giggle. "AHH I HAVEN'T SEEN YOU IN SO LONG ALICEEE !! I MISSED YOU !!!" She said with a huge bright smile on her face. "I missed you too Camila." I said also with a bright smile.
After a while of catching up and telling her how I was liking the place so far, we went to a few shops and got some new clothes, makeup and some ice cream.
It was getting late so we started to make our way down to the beach. There was no one else there so it was just me and Camila. It was so silent outside and all I could hear was the sounds of the seagulls and the waves. The beach was my favourite place to go to whenever I wanted to feel calm and relieved. The sound of the waves crashing against each other was my favourite sound. It was the only thing I would ever hear. It made me feel like I was in a different world with no one else in it but me. At the beach is were I felt safe.
