Luz, Eda, Raine and King all collapsed into their respective beds, dreaming of various things. About an hour later, Luz was woken by pebbles tapping on her window. What is it this time Amity? She thought. As she looked out the window she found no cotton candy haired goddesses but a clumsy Edric. He explained that Odalia had come back and took Emira. Quite easily he added, she was only pursuing healing magic. Luz was alert but still a bit groggy, she got dressed, accidently hit her shoulder on the doorframe to Hooty's dismay and the two went back to the Blight Manor to fetch Amity and Alador but the front of the manor had been busted open wide and it appeared clear that Alador had also been taken.

To Luz's relief, Amity was okay as she had been hiding when Odalia attacked and began preparing after it was over. She asked Edric where Emira was, "She's been...taken, Mittens, by Odalia." Amity was absolutely furious! She turned red at just the mention of her mother, she who had the audacity to exploit everyone. She immediately set out a tracker for her mother and vowed she would get what she deserves, with compliance or with force. She did not care which came first, either outcome ended with Odalia learning her place: In the ground or close to. Luz calmly stopped this, "Woah there cowgirl, no need for murder, she isn't going to hurt them, I'm sure." Amity refused to accept it, "She was so evil Luz, she subjected me to constant torture for her sales and before me, my siblings. What says she wouldn't kill them if driven far enough?" "Okay most of that is true," Luz explained, "but she still cared for you guys somewhat, she even made your lunches since you didn't know how." Amity jumped slightly, Edric took the opportunity, "Aw, Mittens I didn't know you were that dependent on her. What are you eating now? The trash?"

Luz corrected him, "No she does not Ed, she is simply learning from me for now until she trusts herself to not hurt herself or others cooking." Edric broke out laughing and Amity was a bit nervous but Luz assured it was okay to not know how to cook, even some in her realm couldn't cook, she added. The two exchanged a small embrace, "I just wish she was there for me more," Amity shed a tear, "Dad was always so busy with his abominations that he was blind to her actions." Soon enough, she was crying in Luz's arms, "I just wanted an actual mom," she paused for a minute, "someone to treat me kindly and teach me everything I didn't learn with her." Edric had stopped laughing, he didn't cry often but even he let a few streak down his cheeks, he had gotten better treatment with help from Emira but Amity had barely anyone who actually supported her before Luz and the rest came along. Suddenly, Amity pulled away from Luz and told them to get ready.
