Zayn's POV

We briskly padded north in the forest. A forest where none of us are familiar with. Who knows what kind of creatures inhabit this forest?

As the Sun slowly sets down from the horizon, Liam stopped his steps and turned to us.

"Guys, it's getting dark. I think we should find some place to rest until morning arrives," Liam advised.

"But I'm hungry..." Niall moaned, lying on the ground. "I need food like Nando's to survive you know. And we haven't ate in hours."

Liam looked at him and rolled his eyes, while Louis and Harry let out a hefty sigh.

"But we're in the wildness, how are we suppose to find food?" I asked. "And don't forget we are still cats."

"What the hell do cats eat?" Harry meowed. Louis, Niall and I looked at him blankly.

Liam glanced at all of us before replying, "You guys should read more books!" which he earned a glare from Louis.

"Liam, don't you know I have only read one book in my whole life?" Louis snorted.

Liam gave him a weird glance before continuing, "Well, cats usually hunt small animals, like birds, mice or even fish for some." I gasped in shock. No way am I going to eat some raw mouse!

"You're not expecting us to eat some random animal, do ya?" Harry growled in shock and a bit of amusement. "I don't think any of us will want to swallow fur and feathers."

"I agree with Haz," Louis commented. "No way am I going to eat a bird. That's call betraying Kevin, you know."

Liam sighed. "I don't know what is wrong with your strange obsession with that fake pigeon though, but I'm just stating a fact. That's what cats eat. Unless you are referring to a domestic cat, then it will be cat food."

Louis looked hurt and he lowered his brown tail, which was usually held up high, down slowly till it drooped on the ground. "N-no way am I gonna eat cat food either," he half-stammered and half-retorted.

Harry then leaned closer to Louis.

"Liam," Harry defended Lou, eyebrows furrowed. "Don't be like that, thanks." I still felt kind of sorry for Liam though. Harry shouldn't be that harsh.

Liam closed his brown eyes for a while and then slowly opened them.

"I'm sorry, okay?" Liam whispered. "But it isn't my fault. That is what cats eat, and we are cats, aren't we?"

Then suddenly I realised something. It struck me so hard it actually hurt. Badly.

"But guys, we are not actually cats, are we?" I muttered. "I mean, we are humans that became cats. So we are not actually cats."

The four of my closest friend thought carefully. Their eyebrows furrowed and I can see that they are in somewhere else.

"It actually makes sense," Liam murmured after a while. "We are not actually cats, we are humans that had become cats. So our minds still have human senses in them."

"I'm still a bit confused though," Louis muttered. "But it makes sense, so I'm in." Harry nodded too.

"I guess so..." Niall meowed softly. "But I'm still hungry. If we still have the minds of a human, shouldn't we be eating human food?"

"But there's no human food here." I merely said the tragic truth but Niall still whimpered.

Liam licked Niall's left ears to comfort him before saying, "So we need to improvise. Is there any fruits or food we human consume that can be found in the forest?"

"All I know that in the forest it's all dirt, grass and trees, and more trees," Louis simply stated.

Liam rolled his eyes for like the billionth time.

"That's all?" he asked.

"What else are there except for your shit?" Louis retorted sassily. "'Daddy Directioner'?" I could see Hazza covering up a smirk.

Liam flicked his tail in annoyance, almost hitting Niall who was behind him. Niall let out a yelp while me, Louis and Harry sniggered under our breaths.

"Come on, be serious!" Liam snapped. "Do you all know we might die of hunger in this place?"

The three of us immediately shut up while Niall whimpered. We've never thought of death before, you know. The theme 'death' has never been a topic of our conversation before. I suddenly realised that we might die here...

"I'm so sorry," Louis confessed. "Sorry that I've not been serious before. We must not die, at least not because of me." Harry and I nodded guiltily.

Liam's eyes softened as he replied, "Okay, lads, maybe we can find some berries around here. Just make sure they're safe to eat."

"We passed by some berries bushes earlier!" Niall moaned. "You didn't let me eat!"

"Niall! Those berries were poisonous!" Liam growled. "They're known as Yew berries and their seeds are very poisonous. I heard that if a cat eats it, it will die."

All of us gasped. I could see all of our eyes were filled with terror. We all now realised the forest is a dangerous place. It is not a place for us to joke around and it is a life-and-death situation.

"Sorry..." Niall whispered. "I didn't know it was poisonous..."

"S'okay," Liam purred as he wrapped his tail around Niall's tail.

"Hm, seems like we have a bromance goin' on here, aye?" Louis said enthusiastically, spoiling the atmosphere. "And please stop we need to find some berries so we wouldn't die!" I could feel Harry mentally facepalming himself. I forced myself not to burst out laughing.

"Uhm... yeah," Liam stammered, face turning red. "Let's go that way"-pointed near a place that has lots of bushes- "It seems like a good place."

"Okay!" Harry, Louis and I said excitedly.

"Race you all to the end! Last one is the dirty fellow!" Louis dared as he sprinted off. Harry, Niall, Liam and I looked at each other.

"See you soon, suckas'!" We all shouted as we raced off.
