- ELEVEN YEARS AGO -

--3RD PERSON POV--

Hundred of feet below the surface lies the government's greatest mistake, the drug turned nefarious. A mistake exploited and manufactured in a factory. Trigger. Distributed by thousands, it ensured chaos would constantly resurface on the streets, it kept the heroes busy while the real villains kept silent doing their duties.

One of Japan's largest Trigger factories held some of the most wanted villains.

"Kagami Ma'am, we've got the Hassaikai inbound, they're here for another Type 3 trigger batch. Should I give them Level Three clearance and dispatch sentinels in case things get flimsy? ".

The villain snapped out of her pondering gaze, her legs kept trekking the seemingly endless hallway whilst the assistant hurried to keep up at a steady pace from behind. "If it's just another pick-up, then yes. Level Three but keep the elevators sentinel guarded. I want all ceiling turrets on tranquilizer modes, nonlethal doses- remember that".

"Of course, A- And will you be present?"

"No, I will not, now go. It's almost daybreak" Kagami sent off her assistant dryly, only bothering to project her voice to the left.

"Right Away!" She replied with a bow and left in a hurry.

Until the women's echoing shoes faded, the villain's chest untightened- a moment of weakness could be crucial. Three seemingly endless months have passed since the divorce and two weeks have passed since the underground relocation. With the birth of her second child, things spiraled into havoc, and dicey decisions were required.

Her firstborn had fallen head over heels with the concept of heroism, and it wouldn't be right to drag him into something he'd already been brainwashed to hate. While Y/N was still young, she was still ignorant of the world since her mind was still developing. As a result, custody had been spit. For the greater good.

She wasn't born in a hospital so no records or files had been documented.

Kagami's life as an underground villain had always been the source of argument between her and her husband. Splitting away from her high school crush after eight years of marriage shattered everything. He knew of her life in the shadows. He knew of her hypercontrolling mother. And it kept him from becoming a hero, hours and hours of training, and for what? Just to end up fighting the love of your life? It wasn't worth it, so he quit trying to be a hero.

But that was the past and her feelings were irrelevant. Only the future mattered. Y/n's, future for that matter.

"You do understand that a procedure like this can have unspeakable side effects? Combining two quirks into one could have uncharted-- she's only a juvenile. I've only successfully modified Nomu may I remind you". The doctor twirled a pen, intertwining through his fingers. His gaze held seriousness behind those geared goggles.
