Survival of the Phoenix

Chapter I

After the death of her village Chinaru Blaze was enrolled in Soul Arts Mystical Academy. Soul Arts is a school for mythological student's. Chinaru was sent out to find her betrothed, but she didn't know where to look for him at. Before the death of her family, Chinaru was just like any normal phoenix girl, but she was also the fire elemental representative.

Chinaru only knew Jiriki, the water elemental representative, who she met when she was just a little girl. She was told that she could find him at the academy also. When she heard she got so excited to see him again. It was exactly ten years ago when they met. Chinaru got lost in the woods, running from her teacher, and stumbled upon the near by water village. A huge wild boar was attacking her, and she couldn't use her fire element . Jiriki saw the boar charge at something. He thought it was just charging at an animal, but then he heard a girl yelling. When he got up to where the scream came from he saw a feather fall out of her hair, dust everywhere, and a girl falling to the ground. Jiriki quickly grabbed a stick off the ground and started swinging it at the boar. He hit it a few times before it charged at him. It knocked him to the ground. Chinaru grabbed the stick and hit the boar, It ran away.

"Are you OK?" Chinaru rushed.

"Ya I'm fine, how about you."Jiriki wondered.

"I'm fine." Chinaru ensured.

After that day Chinaru and Jiriki would play together in the forest. When Jiriki turned 14, Chinaru left to find the other village of fire. He hasn't seen her yet.

Chinaru saw the academy. She walked up and opened the gate door. It creaked softer then expected. She walked up the steps, but immediately was trampled by two wolf's, a fox, and werewolf flowed by an elf welding her bow covered in flour. She had a black apron up to her waist and was very mad.

"Stop, running and clean up your mess!" The elf yelled at them.

"Ow! What just happened?" Chinaru rubbed her head.

"Sorry about that, I'm Kitana." Kitana cocked her head with a smile.

"I'm Chinaru, so what was that all about?" Chinaru grabbed her bags.

"Oh, those animals...they were trying to 'help' me make the food for our feast." Kitana wiped some flour off her face.

"Why are you having a feast?" Chinaru has never been to a school and doesn't know about there customs.

"To welcome the new student. And my guess is that it's you, right?" Kitana was right.

"Ya, but a big feast is a little too much isn't it." Chinaru didn't really eat all that much after the incident.

"Oh, sorry we didn't know, besides it looks to me like you haven't ate in a while." Kitana and the whole academy don't really do school work like regular kids.

"Ya, so can you tell me were dorm two is?"Chinaru didn't know the names of the dorm, she is in dorm two sad.

"Ya I know where that is, it's with Arifumei!" Kitana and Arifumei are best friends.

"Hm, thanks." Chinaru followed Kitana into the school.

As they walked up the steps Chinaru noticed from one room that water was coming from under the door. She thought of Jiriki. They past the other dorms too. Hate, hurt, confused, love, scared, anger, happy, and sad. They were standing in front of the room that would hide this poor phoenix.

"Thank you Kitana!" Chinaru bowed her head.

"Don't worried about it, just stay clear of dorm seven, hurt." And with that Kitana left.

Chinaru opened the door and no one was in. She put her bag on the floor and plopped on the couch. Her only concern was when she was going to see Jiriki and if he still remembered her. Chinaru got up and opened the door. She creaked down the steps to level three were his dorm is. She knocked.

"Um...hello?" Chinaru step back a bit. "I guess he isn't in."

"Hold on a sec!" A loud voice yelled from with in the dorm room."Ya what is it?"

"Um..." She couldn't speak. She was frozen.

"Hello? Hey Jiriki come here!" The young man yelled.

"Ya what is it Nokeshi?" Jiriki stood at the door way.

"Um...hi Jiriki...it's me...Chinaru..."She didn't think he would remember her.

"Chinaru...from the forest right? Or Mechirin are you playing some kind of sick joke on me?" Jiriki put his right hand up on the door way and his left on his hip.

"Who is Mechirin? It is me Chinaru, you remember the boar right?" Chinaru only knew the three people in the school so far.

"Imma leave you two to do what ever. I needs ma sleep." Nokeshi fell on to the small cloud like bed.

"How have you been? Did you get attacked again?" Jiriki laughed then smiled at Chinaru.

"I haven't, not sense I left."Chinaru and Jiriki talked until Arifumei rushed over.

"Whoa so your my roommate!"Arifumei fluttered.

"Arifumei, so your bunking with Chinaru. You be nice to her then."Jiriki go serious."She has been through enough."

"Jiriki...what are you talk'n bout? Arifume!"Nokeshi fixed his hair.

Arifumei laughed at Nokeshi."What's up!" She giggle.

"So why are they waiting in the hall! Please come in ladies..."Nokeshi invited them inside.
