𝐘/𝐍'𝐬 𝐏𝐎𝐕

Before Noon, we had in total 21 vision wielders, and now by the time most of the nation is asleep, there will be 0.

"I have conducted this experiment twice, they've both failed." The tall one with the mask cooed as he strolled past the line of vision wielders tied by the wrists and seated on their knees.

I am one of them. The Masked figure held some small vile of red liquid and it smelt of ash.

"But, I never tested it on Snezhnayan citizens." He muttered and got a hold of one of the older vision wielders in the village I was staying at.

The lady occupying the masked figure and the...I wouldn't know how to describe him but by the way, his eyes lit up when he got a hold of each of the villager's mora supply, I would assume he was a banker. The woman had lit some of the homes on fire with people still inside, I didn't leave my home in time to find out why she had done this. But to her credit, the crackling had stopped me from hearing the screams of the innocent man the masked guy had gotten his hands on.

"Dottore," The Tall Woman started. "I wish to understand why we must waste such precious time on these.." Her gaze grazed past the elders and then the younger wielders. "I would think it would be more natural for the wolves to feast on their bones." She grinned.

"This village supply..." The banker cooed. "It's almost nothing! How do they survive?!" His frown elongated and dropped the bag, small golden pieces spilling and getting lost in the snow. The masked man didn't even give the banker any sort of attention as his vile tipped over and covered an elder man with its red insides.

Screams erupted from the elder and I winced silently. Elders deserved to die peacefully in their sleep, or with their loved ones. Not by the hands of crazed fucks like these.

"Killing innocents, even harbingers need to pay for the crim-" Before I could even finish my sentence, the woman's high heel stabbed itself into my face hard enough that blood trickled out of my nose and down my jaw.

"Shut your mouth." She hissed and grabbed a fist full of my hair. I whined and spat at her.

The masked man cocked his head to his left slightly, his grin returned and he opened his mouth to speak.

"Why don't you tremble like the rest of your friends and family?" He asked calmly, but a hint of curiosity hitched itself in his voice.

"You're an interesting one," He leaned over to my height and trailed his gloved finger across my lower lip. He smirked and wiped some of the blood away from my jaw.

"I want the rest dead, but not her." He said coldly as he slammed his fist into my head so hard my body hit the ground with a large thud.

When I had awoken, I could taste the blood on the left side of my mouth. My head was throbbing in pain like I had drunk half of the country's wine supply. I wasn't in the clothes I was in when I had been knocked out. I was instead wearing simple black leggings with a white blouse. Once I sat up, I took in my surroundings.

This room wasn't on the larger side. Where I sat was in the right corner on an oak bedframe mattress comforter. In front of me was a large pale blue dresser with 5 handles and beside that was an oak rack. A few feet from the rack sat a door that could only be explained to be the bathroom. On the left wall was one large oak bookshelf with a good selection of books. And then the window nook. On the other side of the window was a large frozen lake. I could see some of the mountains and the start of a deep forest. It's probably a full 2-hour walk to the entrance of that forest. But what was the most concerning thing about it all was the masked man sitting on the window nook looking at me.

I swear on Celestia I can see his eyes behind that mask. I lowered my shoulders and looked at my hand.

"Where am I?" I demanded and he chuckled.

"Not even a thank you for not taking away your precious little life?" The man stood up and I looked at him.

"You killed innocents, what is there to thank?" I grumbled and he held my chin tightly.

"You speak like a god." He said flatly and I sat there confused. He then smiled slightly.

"How do you find the outfit? Is it to your size?" He asked and I pulled away from him.

"Why should you care? You-" Before I could finish he cut me off.

"Because you'll be working under the Tsaritsa's orders. She ordered it herself and I always listen to my Archon." He crossed his arms and I barked out a laugh.

"Work for the Cryo Archon? You must be joking. Kill me now." I spat the words out harshly at him.

"You killed innocents, and now you expect me to work for you-" He cut me off again. He was starting to piss me off with the interrupting.

"You're not working for me, you dense girl. You're working for the Tsaritsa." He shook his head slightly. "You must be the dumbest girl to walk Teyvat or you just don't listen. How did you live this long?"

"I'm going to kill you." I spat at him - literally.

"Dottore." We both turned to the door.

It was a little man, he had an extended nose and circular glasses. His oversized jacket makes him look like a child playing in their grown-up parent's clothes. I had to contain my laughter by biting my tongue.

"Pierro has called for you." He said in a way that seemed he did not want to be the messenger. He did not once turn to me.

"Well, seems I need to take my leave." Dottore turned to me and I looked straight into that ridiculous mask.

"I still stand on what I said," I said calmly and his smirk formed again.

"I'm hoping you keep that promise, my dear."

And then he left with the small man, leaving me alone in the room as my gaze turned back to the deep forest across the frozen lake.
