A/N so after writing the first chapter 4 different times I think I got it. Btw sorry if there are a lot of mistakes, I'm not so good with grammar.... sooo... sorry! :P

Only 3 days until I start my new school, Daniel and Vanessa bought me a new car so I could drive from school and back and to were ever I needed to go. I appreciated the gesture but I could've just ridden the bus. The car was a new light grey Porsche. They bought me this car do to my good grades and being a good kid, is what they said, but I think it was so I would get out of the house more, but as previously stated I have no reasons to go anywhere unless it's school related.
After a while I took my car out to drive, and I really liked it. The car was so easy to handle and not as touchy as Daniels car.
I wasn't a big fan of fast cars, but this one was sweet. I walk back into the house get some food and head straight to the woods. I love the woods behind my house. They were breath takingly beautiful. They actually reminded me of the woods from something off a horror movie but it was kind of cool

The woods were full of empty trees with green moss and fungi riding up there Bowes. The ground was grass-less and had moss covering the top of the dirt. It seemed when it rained was when the forest was the prettiest, The dew on all the plants and trees would be amazing. Although it was kind of hard to find placed here, West Virginia is growing on me. And the people were really nice and only few of them that I've seen were big hillbillies. But that's every were. I run to the middle of the forest and set up my picnic. I know I sound like a huge loner because I'm having a picnic alone but I loved the peace. the birds singing and small knocks on trees from an occasional wood-pecker. I then lie down and begin to read a book that belonged to my parents. They had hundreds of books, Mostly about animals or mystical creatures. Vanessa always told me my parents were really into the whole supernatural world but I really don't believe that kind of thing.

laying down thinking to myself when I hear a crunch behind me. Not sure that it actually happened I look back up at my book. I hear the noise again, I stand up laying my book down. I then grab my parents jewel necklace, that they gave me as a baby, worriedly. It was a bright green emerald wrapped in a medal wiring that was wound up the jewel and held it in place. I then stand up and walk to where the noise radiated from. I look behind a tree to see a huge black wolf, I mean this thing was huge, it was taller than I was and I'm 6 feet. It was eating something that looked to be a deer, or something of that relation. I don't think it noticed me, it continued to eat its pray. I slowly step backwards when I hear a crack, Damn it! I stepped on a branch. The Giant wolf turned its head to me. I then start sprinting towards home. I scream for help but I was to far out for anyone to hear me. I then get stomped to the ground face first. The huge animal turns me over and looks into my eyes before biting into my shoulder. As the wolf bites my lower shoulder, A bright light flashed from my necklace blinding the dog and making the overgrown mut run away. The bite didn't hurt as much as I thought so I didn't really bother to take extreme measures to keep me from bleeding to death. I stumbled towards the house, Not making a huge deal of it, mainly because I didn't want them to freak out, I didn't tell Vanessa or Daniel.
I run up to my room into my bathroom and take off my clothing. I then step into the shower and wash off the dry blood from my skin. I wrap up the wound, I'm lucky I just got snipped by the animal, so I wasn't worried from the wound, what did confuse me, more than worry me was why the hell did my necklace freaking glow!? I grab some of my parents books about supernatural stuff and books about gems.
The next day I was laying in my bed without any sleep from the previous night. I hear a knock on my door.
"hey Dyl." I knew it was Vanessa because she was the only one who called me that, I hated it, because I'm not 5.
"hey, Vanessa." I sigh in frustration.
"you want me to bring you up some breakfast its almost 1 o'clock?" she asked in remorse. But she has no idea what has happened. "What's wrong baby, you seem really down?" Vanessa was so caring she was like a mother to me.
"nothing, I'm fine its just I've been wondering about this necklace and I kind of stayed up really late looking through some of mom and dads books."
"oh. Well there is a book that Your parents gave to us that I think may say something about it, I'll go get it." she walked out of my room and in less than 3 minutes she was already back in my room handing me the book. I flip through the pages skimming speedily. I almost speed past a page with the picture of an emerald necklace very similar to mine. It was much more clean than mine and was shaped differently but I could tell that it was emerald as well. I steadily glimpse at the words on the page.

The emerald is a symbol of safety, It was believed to been used by witches or heavenly spirits to protect from demons and supernatural creatures.

After what I have just read I was very confused so I went to my desktop computer and searched on the internet about emeralds and mythological creatures. I found tons of information, and out of the corner of my eyes I see something that reads

It leads me to a website that has a lot of information on this crystal, it says that it was originally used by supernatural hunters that protect humans from being harmed or finding out about demons and supernatural beings. It had me wondering, What if there are creatures roaming, that humans have ever seen or lived to tell the story at least. What if there are hunters that protect people from being harmed. I need to ask Daniel about my parents and who they actually were, and why I have this necklace!
