Ayesha's POV

Next morning the first thing I did was to check on mom. Her fever has gone but her condition was still poor. I made Dad a lemon tea which he always takes before going on a morning walk. I quickly got ready and started preparing breakfast. It is mostly mom who prepares breakfast, so I had to face a little difficulty in getting everything done. Finally, I decided to make omlette as it the only dish I have expertise in.

I woke mom up and helped her have her breakfast. Till then dad was also back home so, I told him about Woo Jin visiting in the evening. I quickly bid my parents farewell and left for the bus stop.

As usual, the college corridors were bustling with students, some trying to get to their classes on time while the others were simply roaming around. Most of them were discussing yesterday's basketball match. I walked through the campus, vibing on my favourite music, to meet Angela at the parking lot. She waved at me as soon as she saw me. I took off my headphones and walked up to her.

"Hey! I was planning to go shopping after the classes today. I have a family function to attend and apparently none of my dresses seemed apt for the occasion. Would you join?" she said excitedly.

"No, Angela. I'll pass. Not today. My mom is sick, so I'll have to early for home. I have called Woo Jin to check on her in the evening." I replied half-heartedly.

"Oh! That's okay Ayesha. I hope aunty gets well soon. Though I really needed your help. I get super confused while choosing an outfit, you know very well." She pouted.

"I know. Anyways when is this function?" I asked.

"Tomorrow evening, but we need to leave early in the morning." She said while taking out her backpack from the passenger seat.

We walked towards the CS/IT block for python programming lab.

"yesterday's match was a hit." She chimed. "I am planning to interview few of the players for my next blog, for the college website.

"Well, that's a great idea indeed. Everyone seems to be talking about that only. It will be an instant hit." I shook my head slightly at the popularity these basketball players were enjoying. Not because I was jealous but because they were more popular for their good looks and attitude than their game.

It was half past 1:00 and we were sitting at our usual place in the cafeteria.

"So, I have completed reading this book yesterday and it is sooo good. I can't wait to tell you the story but I want you to read it on your own first. It is the perfect blend of drama, suspense, romance, angst, longing...." Angela was going on and on about yet another of the novels she has read lately.

However, what caught my attention was the crowd which has gathered around a certain table.

"Hey! What is going on there?" I pointed towards its direction.

"Where? Ooo... now that's interesting. Come let's see." She stood up to go.

"Ahh... no. You go, I'm good here." I replied nonchalantly.

"Oh come on Ayesha. I know you like to avoid the spotlight but it isn't like standing there would make you catch any attention." She started dragging me towards that very table.

On reaching the scene I could see Kiaan sitting along with his friends. A girl was standing there holding a rose in her hand and a paper which seemed to be a letter. Love letter? I wondered.

"Poor soul. Another heart is going to break at the hands of all mighty Kiaan Saxena. May good give her the power to endure this pain, Amen." Angela muttered in low voice but loud enough for few people around her to listen. I elbowed her to keep quiet.

This wasn't the first time Kiaan has rejected a girl. He is a known heart breaker. But it is definitely the first time I am going to witness it myself. I recognized that the girl is from the dancing society of our college, same year as ours.

Some students had already taken their phones out and were recording. This isn't going to end well for her. Kiaan was completely unbothered about the attention they both were getting and continued to dig in his food, expressionlessly.

The girl started saying something to him. But we were standing too far away to hear it properly. It was something on the lines of... have admired you for a long time... great personality... like you very much... give me chance... something something. Though I could tell that she must have rehearsed these lines a thousand times before.

Though I usually not enjoy seeing other's misery but this was different. I wondered how girls can give up their self esteem just like that and make a fool of themselves. They know pretty well that he is stone cold and will never reciprocate anyone's feelings.

When she had completed talking, the students started howling and cheering. They were clapping and banging the tables, waiting for Kiaan's answer. By then he has also finished eating. Like seriously, he can atleast show some respect when somebody I talking. He stood up wiping his mouth and said-

"NO"

Just like that he walked out. The cafeteria was filled with pin drop silence. I also pulled Angela back with me. Grabbing my unfinished burger and coke, I exited along with her before she could make any remarks.

"Damn. That was actually very rude. You have surpassed my expectations, Kiaan. Too good. Oh god. That was a good show." Angela said as if this was one of the best story scenes ever written.

"Gosh, you are being mean Angela. I feel bad for the girl." I said giving her a pointed look.

"Yeah, you are right. She atleast deserved a complete sentence, don't you think?" She said with a serious look on her face. But we both ended up laughing as her eyed met mine.

"What do we have for next lecture?" she asked.

"Computer system security" I replied as we rushed for the lecture theaters.
