When Pepe woke up, someone was staring at him. A girl. Pepe propped himself up on one elbow tiredly. "I didn't think you were real," she said with wonder. "What?" Pepe was even more confused than he was last night. He almost felt like crying. "Your Pepe. Pepe the frog. Oh my god." She touched his face, but pulled back when he flinched away.
"Listen, I don't know how you know me! I don't even know you! We have never met before and I would very much like it if you explained how you know me. I need some mental stability right now." Pepe was now sitting up right and the girl was sitting across from him.
"You really don't know do you?" The girl quickly pulled out a phone and moved beside Pepe. What he saw on the phone made him feel feelings like no other.
All over the screen was cartoon pictures of Pepe. Every picture was different. He saw himself looking sad, looking angry, hugging a weird faced human, and so many disturbing images. The feels were over whelming and he could not speak. Sweat dripped down his neck.
"How many people... Know about me?" The girl looked up at him. "Pretty much everyone that uses the internet. How could you not know about this?" She was smiling before, but now deep concern showed on her face. "I... I don't have a..." what was she holding in her hand? "A cellphone? Internet?" Her hand was on his shoulder. That made him sweat even more. "Yes," he said.
"This must be so overwhelming for you," she said gently. Now she was rubbing his shoulder. Pepe had so many feels that he had to stand up. He was pacing back and forth, and then threw up a little. "Oh my god! Pepe!" The girl came over and patted his back. "If it makes you feel any better, you aren't as ugly as you are in the pic-" Pepe violently swatted her off "Don't! Talk about the pictures! I want answers now!" Pepe was breathing heavily, knowing he was breathing in the girls face to hard.
"What's going on out here?" It was Ben. Pepe was relieved and walked quickly to him. "Carly did you upset him?" The girl, Carly, was standing in the distance, worried. "I wasn't trying to scare him! He wanted to know why I knew his name. I showed him the pictures of him and he got scared." Pepe was now staring coldly into Ben's eyes. "Tell me what's going on or I will screech louder than a hundred pigs in a slaughter house." Ben shakily sighed. "Alright, come inside. You too Carly. Shut the doors and close the curtains. The neighbors must not see." Pepe was uneasily determined for answers.
"Please, sit down," Ben demanded. Pepe sat, but he was very uneasy. This whole idea that he might be famous and have a fan base scared the shit out if him. He was just an ordinary, human sized, frog. Why would anyone make these cartoons of him? Calm down, chill. You're gonna get the answers. Pepe breathed.
"Pepe, the reason why me and my girlfriend and basically everyone knows about you is because... You are internet famous." Carly butted in, "basically, people use your face as a way of expressing feelings that they can't express." The couple looked at Pepe, to make sure he understood. "And the reason why people draw you in weird and disturbing situations is to start contrevercy from everyone who sees it," Ben explained.
"So everyone.... Knows me. How many people you know, in numbers... know me?" Ben sat on the couch. "I would say... A good 50 million or more. You really are quite the famous frog."
