"Billie! Come on!" Schlatt called out for the third time from the living room as Billie finished tying her shoes and looking herself over in the mirror one last time to make sure she looked good.
She rushed down the stairs being met with Schlatt stood in the entryway of his house with his arms crossed over his chest and a raised brow. "Yeah, yeah," Billie muttered walking with him out of the house to his car him telling her that they were most likely going to be the last ones to the party.
Schlatt and Billie had met years ago through Yumi and since then the two had become each other's ride or dies. He had told her that Grizzy was hosting a New Year's party and that she was invited if wanted to come and he had managed to convince her to so she flew out to Texas staying at his house as he couldn't let her stay in a hotel.
Billie used to be the life of the party always being reckless and having fun but she hadn't been to a party in over two years so to say she was nervous would be an understatement. Not only was she nervous about being back in the party setting after a long time but meeting a bunch of new people who were well-known and who were all good friends with her best friend made her want to jump out of the car and run home.
"You'll be fine, they're gonna love you," Schlatt reassured her sensing her anxiety as they hopped out of the car when they arrived.
Billie only smiled giving him a small nod and doing her breathing exercises to try and calm herself down, Schlatt opened the door sauntering into the house not bothering to knock Billie stood there for a second before slowly making her way inside. She was instantly met with the overwhelming smell of alcohol and music blasting throughout the house, closing the door behind her she followed Schlatt further inside she could hear loud chattering and laughter.
"Finally!" A buff man whom she recognized to be Grizzy exclaimed from his spot in the kitchen where people stood making drinks and talking, he made his way over to the two who had drawn the attention of almost everyone. "I was beginning to think you weren't going to show up." He joked dapping up Schlatt who blamed their tardiness on Billie.
The brunette blushed when Grizzy looked over to her with a wide smile, he held out his hand to her. "Ah, the infamous Billie." She placed her hand in his giving him a soft shake. "It's nice to finally meet, I'm Grizzy or Nelson whichever is fine. I've heard so much about you." He greeted taking his hand back.
"It's nice to meet you too." She replied with a soft smile. The man had led them into the kitchen introducing her to everyone and she knew she wasn't going to remember all of their names in an hour and there was still a small crowd of people she had yet to meet in the living area.
Schlatt had gotten sucked into conversation with a small group of guys so she decided to venture off into the living room where the majority of the people were. There was a large 'L' shaped couch that only had a few open seats. To the side of the room was a circle of people who were watching an ongoing game of beer pong others were scattered about chatting with each other and having a good time.
Her anxiety was rising by the second from the noise that seemed to only get louder so she decided to go look for a bathroom to pull herself together. Finally finding it she closed the door behind her sighing in relief at the quiet. Sitting on the edge of the bathtub she put her head in her hands elbows resting on her thighs taking deep breaths and trying to calm herself as tears brimmed her eyes at the memories that flooded her brain.
The door opened and a tall man walked in making eye contact with her, his own widening. "Oh, I'm sorry." He looked down at her for a moment before asking, "Are you alright?" His brows furrowed in concern.
