"i hate it when you're not around, and the fact that you didn't call."
luke's lips trembled as he stared out the window, shaking in his seat as he dialed michael's number for the seventh time that night.
he hadn't seen the man for over a week after their recent (and not so surprising) fight when michael stormed off to his parents house. but luke didn't know that.
the line, once again, went to voicemail, the same message ringing through his ears.
"hey, it's michael and this is my voicemail! i'm either too busy to answer or i just really don't like you. i'll try and get back to you as soon as i c- luke! out down the cat!"
then there was the monotone beep that caused another rush of tears to fall down his porcelain cheeks as he threw his phone to the ground, the screen shattering as it made contact with the dark brown, hardwood floor.
his chest felt heavy, his joints felt weak, and he felt like he was dying, his hands and feet and every apendage on his frail body shaking violently as he screamed.
he screamed till his voice was raw and the windows were shaking, one of his neighbors even coming over to ask if he was okay.
when he answered, he was apalled at the sight of the red headed man he'd fallen in love with.
"luke, what are you doing?" he said sternly, narrowing his eyes at the blonde.
the shorter of the two gave michael challenging eyes as he backed up, allowing michael to come in.
"it's been a week, michael. i haven't heard from you in a week. a while fucking week, michael clifford. no call. no text. i would've even accepted a god damn e-mail, if it meant knowing you were okay! but no! i got silence! have you even looked at your fucking phone?"
michael walked towards luke, eyes soft as he mumbled out a quiet baby, only for luke to interrupt him again.
"don't you fucking 'baby' me, michael!" a wave of tears rolled down luke's face as he began to hiccup on his sobs. "you have no right to fucking come and go as you please without letting me know where you are! i even filed a fucking missing persons report because i didn't know where you were!"
luke placed a hand on his hip and the other on his forehead as he cried silently, turning away from michael.
"i-i h-hate it when you're n-not here.. and to make it worse, you didn't- you didn't even bother to c-call.."
michael walked to luke before he could say anything and wrapped his arms around the shaking boy, pulling him into his strong chest.
"i promise i'll call from now on. i promise."
