Me and my friends have gotten use the training. I started target practice today. They give us bolt action 7.62mm rifles, MO405. I load the gun with 10 bullets and lay down on the ground with 10 others.
"Each of your targets are set at 50 meters away, now show us what you guys got." A man comes up with binoculars and looks down at my target. "Fire when ready!" Yells out the drill sergeant. I aim down the scope and try to eliminate most of the black outside the crosshairs. I get it perfect, I hear gunshots to the sides of me from the fellow snipers. "Com'n you can do better than that!" Yells the sergeant. I aim the sights and put it a little to the right side area of the bullseye due to the light wind blowing to the left. "Franklin fire already danmit, we don't have all day!" Yells my spotter. "Ok." I remark. I squeeze the trigger then the crack of success breaks silence of near hits of the bullseye.
"Damn Franklin, that don't happen much. Probably beginners luck, do it again." I pull back the bolt putting a shot in the chamber, find the spot to shoot, and squeeze. Another satisfying crack leading to another satisfying bullseye. "Shit, I can't even do that, that easily." I squeeze the trigger again after the new round is set in the chamber. I hit all 10 shots in the bullseye, completely eliminate the black center that was one on the paper target.
Day after day I would hit each target spot on almost each time. I only missed the bullseye in a month of training 42 times out of 680 shots. They call me the eagle eye, because I'm so accurate.
After months of training I've perfected my shot and almost get a bullseye each time. They say I'm probably the most accurate man that ever lived. Hey with 5 years of free time and a hunting rifle, you get to be able to practice that shot. I get well known as Eagle Eye soon, but everyone is constantly asking me sniper questions and stuff, and how to master it. It's something that I'm naturally good at and the fact I've practiced my perfect shot.
We'll be in Fallujah in 7 days, I have a feeling that I'll do just fine in every situation. All I'm worried about is my friends. I train extra hard this week never missing the bullseye once the whole week. I run 10 miles on the beach when I have breaks. Running, jumping, lifting, shooting, training, crawling, rolling, and preparing for what's ahead of me. Every night a dream pops into my head. Reminding me if I die, I don't have any parents, no wife, no kids, so it won't matter if I die out there except to my friends. That I need to protect my friends from the enemy.
Time skip
Now we are flying to a base we have taken just outside of Fallujah. Only a few miles from suicide bombers, AK-47 fire, beheadings, and RPG rockets flying through the air. I am a bit shaky but I know I have the skills to kill. The skills to run, gun, jump, hide, and survive this environment. The thing I don't know is, is how long I can live out here.
