Chapter 4.

It's been a week since Bella got here. The rest of the week, Edward has been gone up in Alaska since being near Bella was too much for him. It's Monday again and Edward is coming back today. I don't have Matthew and Brielle for part of this week since Saturday Paul took them up to Tacoma to visit his grandparents and they won't be back until Wednesday.

Me and Bella walked downstairs, getting ready to leave for school.

"Dad!" I called out. "We're leaving." Got no answer. I looked at Bella and she looked around than shrugged. I grabbed my book bag and my keys, while Bella did the same. Bella walked ahead on my down the stairs and I shut the door behind as as I got to the bottom of the stairs, Bella slipped on ice and fell on her ass. Dad pulled into the driveway in Bella's truck. I laughed and quickly went to help Bella's up, so did dad.

"You all right?" Dad asked.

"Yeah I'm good." Bella said getting up.

"Ice doesn't really help the uncoordinated." I said laughing. Dad gave me a stern look as Bella smiled. I walked to my truck, I opened my door and threw my bag into my passenger seat and walked over to the front of Bella's truck.

"Yeah, that's why I had some new tires put on the truck. Old ones were getting pretty bald." Dad told her, lightly kicking her tire as she walked over to her truck.

"Well, probably be late for dinner. I gotta head down to Mason County. Security guard at the Grisham Mill got killed by some kind of animal." Dad told us walking over to his cruiser.

"Again?" I asked. I know it's not an animal, the Cullen's think it's a nomad.

"An animal?" Bella asked.

"You're not in Phoenix anymore Bells." Dad told her. "Anyway, I figured I'd lend a hand."

"Be careful dad." I told him as Bella nodded her head, agreeing with me.

"Always am girls." Dad said.

"Thanks for the tires." Bella thanked dad.

"Yeah." Dad said as he got in his cruiser. Bella turned and looked at me.

"This has happened before?" Bella asked me. I nodded leaning against the hood of her truck. I pushed off and turned to walk to my truck.

"Sadly." I told her, walking to my truck opening my door. I got in and started backing out of the driveway as Bella got in her truck.

I pulled into the school parking lot with Bella behind me. I parked next to the Cullen's as Bella parked and went into school. I turned my truck off and grabbed my backpack. Before I could open my door, someone opened it for me.

"Good morning beautiful." Jasper smiled at me.

"Good morning handsome." I said to Jasper with a smile on my face as I got out of the truck. I locked my truck and walked over to where the Cullen's were. I saw Edward.

"You okay now Eddie?" I asked him. He glared at me when I called him Eddie, he hates that nickname.

"Yes Anastasia." Edward grumbled.

"Okay Edward." I rolled my eyes at him and walked into school with Jasper.

The rest of the day went by fast. I was currently standing next to Jasper next to Edwards Volvo. We were all talking when I saw Edward staring at someone. I followed his gaze to see him staring at my sister.

"Edward quit staring at Bella." I told him. "It's creepy." He turned at looked at me.

"Oh come on. Jasper used to stare you you all the time." Edward said.

"Yeah I know and I used to think it was creepy." I told him.

"You used to think I was creepy?" Jasper asked fake hurt. I giggled.

"A little before I knew what was up. Now I think it so cute when you stare." I told him with a smile.

"Oh yeah?"

"Yeah." I said as I kissed him. I pulled away when I heard tires screeching. I looked over to see Tyler's van sliding out of control, towards Bella.

"Bella!" I yelled, I went to moved but Jasper stoped me by snaking his arms around by waist.

"Not yet baby." Jasper whispered into my ear. Just then I saw Edward take off towards her and the van stopped. Jasper let go of me and I ran over there.

I got over there as Edward was getting up. We made eye contact and I nodded at him in Thank you.

"Bella are you okay?" I asked her panicked.

"Yes I'm fine." Bella assured me watching Edward. Everyone ran over, asking her if she's okay.

"Bella, I'm so sorry. I panicked." Tyler apologized.

"Zip it Ty!" I glared at him. The parking lot is slick for the rain, he shouldn't of been driving that fast.

An ambulance came and got Bella. I followed behind in my truck. I't wasn't long before dad was walking in the room Bella was in.

"Bella. You okay?" Dad asked marching into the room. He looked and saw Tyler. "You and I are gonna talk. You all right?"

"I'm fine, dad. Calm down." Bella told him. Just then Tyler spoke up.

"I'm sorry, Bella. I tried to stop." Tyler apologized for the sixth time. I rolled my eyes at him.

"I know, it's okay." Bella assured him.

"No. It sure as hell is not okay." Dad said sternly looking at Tyler.

"Dad, it wasn't his fault." Bella told dad.

"Yes it was. He shouldn't have been going that fast when the parking lot was still slick from it raining." I stated. Dad nodded to me.

"Thank you Ana. She gets it." Dad said. "You could've been killed. You understand that?" Dad asked Bella.

"Yes. But I wasn't, so..." Bella trailed off.

"You can kiss your license goodbye." Dad told Tyler. Just then Carlisle came in.

"I heard one of the chief's daughters was here." Carlisle announced walking towards us.

"Dr. Cullen." Dad greeted.

"Charlie."  Carlisle nodded.

"I got this one, Jackie." Carlisle told the nurse that was helping Bella.

"Hey, Carlisle." I greeted him with a smile.

"Hey, Ana." Carlisle smiled. "Jasper, Rosalie and Edward are out in the hall if you want to talk to them while I talk with Isabella and Charlie." I looked at Dad and he nodded. I smiled at Carlisle and Dad before leaving the room.

"Hey." I said as soon as Jasper saw me. He smiled and hugged me. When we pulled away, I looked and saw Rosalie looking like she wanted to kill Edward.

"Giving Edward a hard time, Rosie?" I asked.

"You know it." Rosie said making me laugh. Just then Carlisle came over.

"What was I to do, then? Let her die?" Edward asked Rosalie irritated.

"This isn't just about you. It's about all of us." Rosalie told him.

"I think we should take this in my office." Carlisle said looking past me. I turned to see Bella standing there, looking from behind the wall.

"Can I talk to you for a minute?" Bella asked, looking at Edward.

"Rosalie, Jasper, Ana." Carlisle said giving us a look.

"I'm actually gonna head home." I told them. I looked at Jasper. "Wanna come with me?" He nodded.

"I'll come by your guys place later." I said and Rosalie nodded and smiled at me before Carlisle lead her away. Edward looked at me and I nodded to him. He walked over to Bella and me and Jasper went back to my house.
