Unexpected visitors

Chapter four The School Bus

"I can't believe it were saved, thank you Jesus." "Jana I think we've established that there is no Jesus since he hasn't sent any miracle to help us" Dani says sarcastically. "Okay then, thank you Satan."

Smiling she says "whatever." Even though I'm happy that we have some sort of rescue team, were still on top of the car and the zombies are still trying to claw There way up.

The bus suddenly comes into view and I see who it is, our old friends from school, We weren't as close as I am with Dani but never the less I'm happy to see their faces.

"Dani it's Kat, Alexia,Matt and Jake" "WHAT REALLY, WERE GONNA BE OKAY." The bus is now coming forward at a faster pace and I'm afraid it's gonna hit us but it runs over all the zombies, covering us all in blood and I can't even imagine what other disgusting things.

We climb down from on top of the car and I hear a scream, I almost instantly turn around to see a zombie that isn't dead on top of Dani. It's clawing at her face, it's rancid breath covering her. It's wrestling her because and pushing her to the floor.

What can I do?, I don't think I just act because the next thing I know I'm on top of the creatures back like I'm riding a mechanical bull. I try to use my hands to break its neck.

Dani uses this as an advantage to get away from under the zombie and up next to it. I think she is frozen with shock and fear because she can't move, she just stands there and watches in anticipation. My words make her snap out of it because she instantly moves after I say...

"DANI GET INTO THE BUS, ILL BE FINE" and with my words hanging in the air she's gone. The creature has stopped struggling and it falls to the ground bringing me with it. I scrape my knee and shriek in pain while a single tear rolls down my face. That was a bad mistake. My loud outburst has brought forward a pack of another hungry zombies. "Fuck,why can't I just be quiet"

"Shit" I start to run and catch up to the bus, I almost didn't make it and i'm shocked about how long it took for them to catch up to me. 5 more seconds and I would of been dead.

As I walk through the doors I hear all these voices and I instantly smile. "Matt, Alexia, Kat, Jake, I've missed you all so much. I start to sob and fall to the floor of the bus, holding only my arms. I didn't mean to cry it just came out and now I can't stop. Matt comes over to give me a Hug,He's brunette hair almost covering his eyes.

I feel warm and I start to feel less tense. all I've done is defend myself and survive so I fall asleep in his arms,awakening with the smell of his cologne still in the air. I thought he would of moved after all this time but he's still in the same position as before,next to me.

"Jake." I must of startled him since the bus slightly swerved off the Road. "yeah Jana" "I'm sorry for not saying anything, you saved us and I feel like such a douche for not saying thanks."

"It's ok, I get it your tired, the rest of them wanted to sleep as much as you did so there not offended, say your hellos to them later when they get up" "okay and do you want to switch, you must of been driving for such a long time now"

"No it's fine, go back to sleep with Matt." He smirks at his last comment to himself. "what" "nothing you just look like such a cute couple." he's laughing hysterically and I'm really bad at comebacks so all I can think to say is "shut up"

"I never said anything, just don't start kissing or whatever." "Hey we're not going out" "whatever,I'm just saying all he's talked about is finding you and Dani since this whole zombie apocalypse thing has started and now we have he can't get his hands off you, coincidence, I think not"

"Jake, your such an asshole,just keep driving." "okay,okay, fine"

I start to smile thinking about what Jake has just said. I've never really thought about Matt like that and I don't want to start so all I say is "night jake, wake me when you want to swap places."

"Night." And with these last few words I fall back asleep next to Matt and try to forget about everything that has happened over the last few days.
