The Deepest Secrets (Sonadow fanfic)

Prologue

Sonic was standing alone, staring at the water that surrounded the pier he was on. He'd never felt so childish in his life. Scared of a little thing like water. "Sonic your such a little kid! Water is life. Without water we would all die!" He told himself. Only one way to break this curse. One chance to lift the burden that weighed on his shoulders. Something he'd been teased for all his life. He was done with that. Hedgehogs are naturally good swimmers, right? So if he were to just jump in he would naturally start swimming, by instinct, right? Or so he hoped. "Its now or never Sonic" He told himself. He took a few steps back and jumped in. He suddenly felt very, very scared. It was the kind of terror you would get if you were in a life or death situation. Like being kidnapped. Or watching a loved one die. He felt his body start to fall. He felt paralyzed, like his legs and arms wouldn't work anymore. He felt the cold, never ending salt water reach his lungs. He screamed for air. But all he could find was more water. He knew he was going to die. He began losing consciousness......

Shadow, who had watched as the azure hedgehog jumped in, dove into the water and grabbed Sonic, wrapping his arm around him, and dragging him back to the surface. He saw that Sonic wasn't breathing. He dragged the water logged hedgehog back on to the pier. He put his right hand on Sonic's chest, and his left hand on his right, and began compressing. "C'mon Sonic!" He kept doing it, over and over again. But Sonic wasn't responding. "Oh Chaos. Well If I have to do it then I have to" He groaned. He dreaded what he was about to do but saw no other choice. He certainly couldn't just let him die! He tilted Sonic's head back and began giving him mouth to mouth, breathing into him. After the third breath Sonic snapped his head up and began coughing up water. After choking for about five minutes, he looked at Shadow, shocked that he was the one who saved him. "Why'd you do that? You hate me!" He choked out. Shadow classically smirked and crossed his arms. "I don't hate you. I just really dislike you. And what was I supposed to do? Let you die?" He replied. Sonic scoffed. "You certainly didn't have to friggin' kiss me!" He said. Shadow frowned. "I didn't. I gave you mouth to mouth. There's a difference, Faker." Shadow growled, feeling angry. How dare he accuse him, the Ultimate Life Form, of kissing him. He wanted to gag just at the thought of it. He hated doing what he had done. More then anything in Mobius. "Okay okay! Calm down Shads!" Sonic laughed. "Don't call me that." Shadow said as he turned away and began walking. Sonic stared at Shadow as he walked away. He had only tried to tease him. He wondered why he'd taken it so personally.
