Alaric arrived at the Salvatore Boarding House and knocked on the door, Damon opened the door and smiled towards the man. "Thanks for coming, Ric. Can I get you something to drink? Coffee, bourbon? Bourbon in your coffee?" Damon offered with a smirk. "Elena mentioned you needed my help," Alaric replied ignoring Damon's offer as they walked into the main foyer where Stefan sat with Elena, Cordelia seated on the opposing couch where Damon sat down next to her, his arm moving to rest around her shoulders. "Yeah, we were hoping you could help shed some light on the Lockwood family," Stefan expressed with hope, trying his best to ignore Damon and Cordelia.

"Now, why would I know anything about the Lockwood's?" Alaric asked them as he sat down on the other side of Cordelia. "Well, you wouldn't. But your dad, not-dead vampire wife might," Damon expressed with a teasing look. "Isobel's research from when you guys were at Duke together," Elena added knowing that Damon's teasing wouldn't help. "You said that she had spent years researching this town," Stefan spoke up. "Isobel's research here in Mystic Falls rooted in Folklores and Legends but at the time, I thought much of which was fiction," Alaric expressed to them. "Like that amazing vampire story," Damon taunted in regards to the fake story of Isobel's fate.

"Aside from vampires, what else?" Cordelia asked despite moving to lean into Damon's chest, she was still tired from the previous nights antics; Damon's stamina would take some getting used too. "The Lycanthrope," Alaric answered her instantly, he sent her a smile. He had been relieved when she woke up, the blonde had been the only one to go to Alaric for help with actual homework and academic stuff rather than the supernatural side of their lives. "Wait, like Werewolves?" Elena questioned in disbelief. "No way, impossible, way too Lon Chaney," Damon spoke up while Cordelia shrugged and said, "I don't Damon, it's possible. Who really knows what is out there in the world."

"I've been on this planet one hundred and sixty some odds years, never came across one. If werewolves exist, where the hell are they?" Damon questioned despite no one in the room having a direct answer for him. "Maybe they blend better than you think. Or possibly the whole natural vampires versus werewolf thing causes them to keep their distance," Cordelia expressed to Damon, her eyes focused on him. "You really think so?" Damon asked her. "Yeah, I really do," Cordelia nodded, Damon was hesitant but he knew better than to doubt Cordelia's words. "Why do you suspect the Lockwood's?" Alaric asked, he still wasn't sure how he felt about Cordelia and Damon's situationship.

"Because vervain didn't affect the mayor at Founders' Day but the Gilbert device did and it affected his son Tyler," Damon answered Alaric. "And at the school carnival, his uncle Mason exhibited inhuman behaviour when he fought with one of the carnival's workers," Stefan explained, "It suggests it's some sort of supernatural entity." Alaric really thought about it hearing that, even Cordelia was deep in thought as it would be an explanation as to why Tyler had so many struggles with his anger. "We were hoping that Isobel's research could help us figure it out what it is," Elena said, even she wasn't sure how to feel about Damon and Cordelia.
