Chpt. 1

-Talia's p.o.v.-

I walked into the cafe going straight up to the counter.

"A decaf latte please" I said and the lady nodded.

"You new to town?" She asked as she handed me my drink.

"You could say that" I shrugged.

"Where you staying kid?" She asked.

"Doesn't matter. Thanks for the drink" I said giving her the money and leaving. I climbed onto my bike and started it up. I backed out of the space and then took off down the street.

Once I reached the house I was staying at I dropped my right foot into the ground making the fallen leaves go everywhere. I got off my bike taking a sip of my drink. I looked around at the silent woods.

I walked up to my front door unlocking it. I heard a small whimper of fear and looked around.

"Hello?" I asked. I stepped off the porch and look under the steps.

"Awe, how did you get there little guy?" I asked and reached under the steps grabbing hold of the almost new born puppy. It was so cold. I rushed into my house getting a towel and throwing it into the dyer real fast. After a couple minutes I took out the now warm towel and wrapped it around the small pup and grabbed a blanket. I rushed back out to my bike and got on it. I drove back into town going to the nearest vet. I took him inside.

"Hey, hey can someone help me?" I asked going to the front desk.

"What can we help you with ma'am?" The lady asked.

"I found this newborn puppy under my porch steps cold, like very cold and there's no sign of a mom" I said.

"Okay, bring him this way" she said.

"I-I put a towel in the dyer for a few minutes then wrapped in around the puppy to keep it warm" I said as I put the poor thing on the metal table.

"Let's give him a quick check up to make sure everything is okay" a doctor said coming into the room.

-40 minutes later-

After awhile I was able to take him home but not before they explained how to take care of him and gave me a shit ton of milk and little bottles for him. I'm suppose to feed him every two hours.

I picked up an old box putting blankets in it and then lacing him inside the box. I covered him up and laid on the couch. I closed my eyes as sleep took me over.
