Prologue - Of Hypotheses and Facts

What might have happened?

Well, there are a number of theories about the origin of specialties or quirks. One often commonly accepted is the so-called "symbiosis theory" which is supported by relatively well-preserved writings. In these very ancient writings, dating back several thousand years, it is said, or so rather in the alleged translations, that the first human being with a specialty evolved out of a fateful encounter between two individuals. An encounter that has had a lasting influence on the nature of the human being and its further development.

According to these narrations, one day a being from a world very different from ours is said to have strayed into the earthly dimension through a tiny fissure. The probability of such a connection between two different dimensions was close to zero. In addition, this opened path was extremely ephemeral and closed again within a blink of an eye. The question arising was, did one ever come back?

The strayed being, made from luminous matter, was highly intelligent but, incapable of independent movement, damned to stand still. Whereas in its original world, the light creature was extremely mobile and agile. But here and now other laws applied and all attempts to move from the spot were unsuccessful. The stranger had no choice but to hope for something that would change the situation. But what?

At some point, who knows how much time had already passed, a creature of this dimension crossed path. There was mutual observation, but this specimen did not seem to be very intelligent. It quickly became clear that it would not contribute to solving the problem. There was no appropriate reaction. More time passed, other creatures came and went, but each time the alien was touched, nothing happened. No sufficient communication or other kind of deeper connection.

The clock ticked and ticked, until one day a human, most likely in the phase between Homo sapiens neanderthalensis and Homo sapiens sapiens, passed by. The aura of the being was quite different, and the closer the two came, the clearer it became that something was about to change. And indeed...the moment it was touched by the curious human, there was immediately a mysterious connection which quickly became stronger and stronger. The light being, in its desperation, grabbed this connection without hesitation. It is not clear what exactly happened afterwards, none of the parties involved was able to bring the process to the point. However, the result was that the alien light creature entered the body of the human. At first, the human organism resisted the foreign component and wanted to repel it for fear of harm. On the other hand, the being of light clung with all its might. The situation changed as soon as the earthling realized that he was not in immediate danger and relaxed a little. The internal waves smoothed out and the presence of the foreign body was accepted, at least for now. With reaching this phase, the next phenomenon occurred, and namely the light creature could communicate now in certain way with the human being. Unfortunately, not surprisingly though, the way of communication was very different. What the light creature for example expressed in clear information, was only a noise in the skull for the human being. Another essential aspect to the situation was that the light creature could now move around, albeit indirectly via the host body. In addition, the intruder was mysteriously able to move through the body and could gather further knowledge about it. Gradually, it found the system components and understood how they worked together. Whenever it moved, the human noticed it too. For him the movement was like an intense tingling sensation, always where the creature was at the moment. To explore the body and acquire appropriate knowledge took some time. And it took much longer to develop and verify a way of communication. In the end, it was possible for them to thin out the barriers and to follow what was being said. Of course, the system was not perfect from the beginning, but it got better day by day. This in turn opened the door for the next phase. The two beings exchanged with each other and got to know their shared situation better. In the meantime, they agreed that this new connection could be or was beneficial for both parties. Currently, the light being in particular depended on this connection and benefited from it, which is why it did everything to get in good with the human being. But soon the human would also find out what unimagined possibilities would open up for him...
