Rainfall struck the metallic roof of the pizzeria in heavy bolts, causing a steady atmospheric noise inside. There were no lights on, no steady hum of power, nor was there a night guard with a flashlight. The Toy animatronics were left completely in the dark. With that, lightning struck and she could see the cove before her empty of anyone else. Her body shivered as she held her legs to her chest and her tail taut around her self, trying to cover up in case the others came in. Then the grate fell in the middle of the room from the ceiling, though not from the vent.
She yelped in surprise, shrinking herself further into the corner as something heavy dropped down onto the tiled floor. With no night vision, she couldn't see the intruder, and desperately wished Foxy would finally appear. Gripping the small golden pocket watch in her hands, she felt the small ticks as the seconds passed by, and eventually she felt something grab her shoulder and she nearly shrieked until golden eyes appeared before her.
"Ye needn't be afraid, lass," He said in a low, comforting voice. "T'ere is no one else in 'ere but us."
Her breathing; quick and unsteady, began to gradually slow down as he continued gently holding her shoulder. The rugged todd shifted beside her, letting his legs block her from the rest of the room as she curled up in the corner, leaning against his side. Oddly, she noted that his legs were barely covered in any remaining suit, but contained what was almost like a shock absorber, and in his feet were springs and the bottoms had a weird gritly yet foam-like padding which scratched her foot unintentionally.
"I hate the dark," She said in a whisper, still holding herself as he let out what sounded like a singular huff through his nose.
"Aye," Foxy replied, slowly moving his hand from the shoulder beside him to the one around her, wrapping her up in the crook of his elbow. She rubbed her face against his arm, feeling his coarser fur intermingle with her own softer fur, only to unconsciously emit a low purr as it itched the side of her face.
The room flashed, filling it with a bright white light as she flinched her entire body and accidentally kicked him. A thunderous boom landed what felt was just outside the building, the ground shook, and then there was another crack. Finally, what ever had been hit fell and she was thoroughly freaked out, her teeth clenched and bared as she hyperventilated and looked around the room. He tried to grab her shoulder in an effort to calm her down, and she jumped forward, tripping over his leg, and throwing a table away as she tried to catch herself on it.
"Lass," Foxy exclaimed, grunting as he stood up and took a couple strides to close the distance, kneeling down to see her crying with her knees tucked to her chest on her side. She didn't hear him, only trying to not remember old memories as she saw Toy Freddy and Toy Bonnie walking in from the doorway, scattering across the floor in an effort to defend herself. Their broad wild smiles, sadistic intent, holding an unusual tool with three hooked prongs.
Toy Bonnie leaped at her, using his left hand to hold her left arm back while his right forearm pressed onto her left arm. Behind them, lightning flashed from the doorway as she screamed out for Foxy, wondering where he'd went. Toy Freddy drew closer, holding the tool, and kneeling beside her as he placed it near her head before raising it up and bringing it down towards her face with extreme effort-
A sharp clang drew her attention, looking up into the eyes of the todd who had grabbed her hand and swung his hook down beside her head. Again, she could only stare in fear as he held himself a few inches over top of her, but he offered a small smile as he let go of her arm and stroked her cheek with his good hand, holding himself up by the embedded hook.
"Are ye okay, lass?" His thumb moved under her right eye and wiped a tear from her eye as she sniffled and looked over at the hook. "Sorry about t'at, ye kept getting close to cuttin' yerself so I pierced it in te tile."
"That... doesn't damage it?"
"Well, I can always fix 'ta bugger. Better t' damage that then hurt ye."
Her hand trailed upwards, gently gripping onto the replacement appendage with a sigh before closing her eyes. "Thank you."
"I don't require no t'anks, lass. As long as yer okay," Foxy said, trying to pull out the hook to no avail. "Bad news, how'ver: I can't pull me hook out tis tile."
She heard what he said, and looked over, before looking down to see if she could get out, but instead she noticed his mid section which had been ripped apart save the musculature tubing which permitted his movement. Her right hand which had been released by now moved down and carassed the large injury. His anatomy had suddenly enthralled her when she was given the chance to properly examine it, though, extremely poorly because she couldn't actually see.
"Wat are ye doin', lass?"
"I'm... Just looking," She replied, her digits running along the tubing as his breathing became unsteady above her. He dipped lower as his arm shook, and his hand that had been cupping her cheek was withdrawn before she felt his elbow lay down beside her and his hand place itself underneath her arm, holding her back. The intimate position was interrupted by, yet again, another flash of lightning as she saw the face around his eyes looking down at her, only a few inches away from her own snout, and she dropped the hand from his belly out of embarrassment. "I'm sorry."
"Tis fine, lass," He replied, loosening up above her as he got comfortable in their stuck position because of the hook. "I'll try an' leverage it out."
Crackling of tile filled the vixen's ear which flicked in response, the todd making a face which she barely saw, but recognized with a gentle smile as he muttered. Finally, he broke free from the floor and looked at his hook to see the tip was somewhat bluntened and bent, but shrugged it off before looking back at her. She commended his efforts with a peck on the cheek, elliciting a tail sweep behind him as it brushed back and forth in the air.
He sat up on his knees between her legs, and she looked up at him with a smile as he offered his hand to her which she took, sitting up and standing. She could tell Foxy was able to see everything as he guided her back to the tiny stage corner with confident and controlled steps, supporting her by holding her left hand and his hooked arm under her right armpit while they walked. Her chest was pounding again from his actions, and how he seemed keenly aware of her predicimate in the dark, while also cautious to not harm her. Somehow, he juggled all that while keeping his senses unoccupied to ensure nobody would sneak up on them.
It was inconceiveable for her to understand. But in a way, she recognized it.
She didn't hear or see Foxy walk away for a moment, but she sensed it, and was proven right when the table she'd knocked over had been somewhat noisily put back into place. Rolling onto her stomach, she propped her head onto her knuckles, her arms on her elbows, and waited for him to walk back, only to see his eyes on level with hers before he booped her nose with his own. Lips upturned into a wide grin, she laughed lightly before her scooted himself from infront of her to beside her, holding his hand on her side.
Thunder flashed again, but this time she didn't even pay attention to it as her vision remained locked onto his eyes which gave her a comfort in the darkness. His body drew somewhat closer, wrapping her in warmth, and she sighed before pressing her head into his chest. "Thank you. Seriously..."
"I 'ave said it many times t'night, but 'tis fine, lass," Foxy said, nuzzling into the top of her head.
"Kinda sleepy. I might take a nap," She yawned, closing her eyes as he smiled and gently scratched the small of her back, earning a purr. Before long, under the combined efforts of the rain, warmth, and Foxy, she began to sleep with a sweet dream as he decided to stay until morning, protecting her from the others, the cold, the lightning, and - even - the loneliness...
