Chapter 1: Unhinged Gamer

This is not the main story yet. Every chapter would have a minimum of 3000 words. 

• Nova Megalopolis, Renae's Home. Year 2086.

I hissed when a monster attacked me from behind. As soon as the timer is up, I used my secondary skill to get even with the monster. I tried to run after my counterattack to preserve my stamina. My HP already had the color orange, close to red which is alarming. It's unfortunate that it's an open world so there is no way for me to retrieve my HP unless I back down from killing the monster which I will never dare to do. 

"Wait!" I shouted when I saw the monster coming on to my direction, trying to launch his powerful attack. 

I thought, I was going to lose all my levels when my teammates covered for me. 

"Renae, don't get too close!" Keir warned me as he launched the final attack that killed the monster. 

Muntik na akong mapatayo sa kinauupuan. I removed my headphones and threw the lollipop metal stick on the floor. 

"Freak you! Give me the items dropped, right now, Keir!" I shouted in front of my monitor that is attached on the wall. Napakagat ako ng labi at maingat na nginitian ang headphones ko. This is the latest, sorry baby, bulong ko at sinuot muli ito. 

"Chill, Renae. You're in rank 1 for the most monster damaged." Farah said. 

Napairap ako at pinaikot ang kinauupuan. "He got the last attack! I'm sure he got something good." I ranted. 

"You almost lose your level 300 character there, Rea!" Hindi makapaniwalang usal ni Keir, acting concern for my character. I almost rolled my eyes. 

"I can easily get it back, anyway." Mayabang na saad ko sa kanya. Farah laughed while Keir made an offensive sound. 

"You smurf." He uttered. 

I smirked. 

"Wait guys, look at the Embers City Game page. There's already a champion in Ignite Arena." Sambit ni Farah na nagpakunot ng noo ko. I start to type the name of the game page on my other monitor and scrolled down.

"How is this fair?!" Sigaw ko sa kwarto. 

"No way, we didn't even have the chance to join." Nanghihina ring saad ni Keir, if only people know, he's competitive like me too. Bagsak balikat akong tumitig sa monitor. 

"We had a lot actually!" Napapikit ako sa inis. 

"The new season just started; they probably didn't expect a lot of players to early sign for it." Tahimik na wika ni Farah. Hinipan ko ang bangs sa mukha at nag back na sa page. I didn't have the guts to look at the champion's name. Since I know, if only I joined, it will be me.
