Mae is over from the UK visiting her Dad in SLC for the Christmas period. She is forced to visit East High with her sister when she meets someone she assumes is a student there.
What will happen when she is due to go back home?

"So what brings you to school on a school on the weekend, behind on a project?" I ask as we make our way down the corridor.
"Something like that" Joshua smirks "I could ask you the same question Mae"
"Oh jeez you'll probably cringe at this but my younger sister is a massive fan of this Disney show that's apparently filmed here and I've come with her, definitely because I'm the best sister and not because she is under age" I joked and in return he let out a small laugh.
We had general conversation as we continued to the restroom , talking about how I'm just visiting Salt Lake for the Christmas period and Joshua recommend some good coffee shops and things to do whilst I'm here.
"We're here, the restrooms are the door on the left" He points to show me
"Thanks Joshua" We both stand there for a second too long "Right, I'm just gonna-" I gesture towards the door. "Oh yeah" He nodded understanding what I meant
We parted ways and I turn around before I go in "Oh by the way, thank you Joshua"
"No worries Mae, enjoy the rest of your vacation. Also you can call me Josh"

We are sat in the parking lot of the school whilst I enter directions to the mall on my maps. Brooke can't stop going on about how this was the best day of her life. Honestly you'd think she's just won the lottery or something not visited a High School.
We spent a few hours at the mall, aimlessly shopping and buying things we definitely didn't need.
We get home just after 4:30pm, after putting all my new clothes in the wash I lay on my bed. I put on some Christmas music to help me start to feel more festive. My phone screen flashes with a FaceTime call and I see it was the group chat with Flo and Lanie.
We chat for a few minutes, general catch up conversations. Lanie is talking about her on and off again ex, who also happens to be her boss. This week he was caught in the printing room at their work with another colleague but he promised her it was nothing. Like every other time.
"Anyway enough about the idiot, how's your trip been recently?" Lanie asked, I can tell this is her way of changing the conversation so she doesn't have to hear us tell her about how she needs to leave him again.
"Erm, good" I look down and smile as I think of Josh from earlier "We haven't done much yet, you know first full day and that"
"Righttt... who did you meet?" Flo teases me. Damn she's good, it's like she can read my mind
"No one, well someone but I barely met them and I will probably never see him again" I can feel my cheeks getting rosey
"Tell us" They both say at the same time causing us all to laugh
"Well, earlier I had to take Brooke to this High School tour. Something to do with a Disney show-" I was cut off by Lanie "YOU went to East High, the iconic High School Musical school. Where Zac Efron once walked the halls.. sorry you know I was a massive fan" I jokingly rolled my eyes at her
"Carry on" Flo insists
"Anyway, long story short Brooke and I had a small snowball flight, I got lost on the way to the restroom and had to ask for directions from a very cute boy. He showed me the way and that was that"
"Ooo, tell us about him, what does he look like? What was his name?" Lanie asks
"His name was Joshua, he was tall but not too tall, curly brown hair that was perfectly messy, he spoke gently and made me feel like we'd been friends for a while" I couldn't help but left the smile spread on my face, in which caused the girls to let out small screams.
"I can see it already, in 5 years Mae will married to this mysterious Joshua they'll own a golden retriever. Possible a child" Flo teases me with her head in her hands pretending as if she's day dreaming.
"Okay girls too far" I giggle "Like I said though, I will probably never see him again so it doesn't matter anyway" I say more seriously, I need to be realistic with myself. " I don't even know his last name, he could even be a serial killer for all I know"
After an hour of talking we hung up, promising to give them a call tomorrow.

I open my eyes and see I am on top of my bed, fuck I must have fallen asleep early last night. I really need to fix this jet lag issue. I pull myself up and look at my phone, great 4:30am.
I scroll through my phone for the next 30 minutes, catching up on the world.

I couldn't stop thinking back to meeting Josh, I didn't know him at all but the interaction make me feel like I had know him forever. I spent a few minutes arguing with myself over how it will be virtually impossible to find him as I'm sure there is plenty of Joshua's in Salt Lake City but in the end I decide that I might as well try. Goodness, even if I do find him he'll probably think I'm some weird stalker.
I tried a few searches with no luck when I see a news article from 2 months ago "Joshua Bassett and HSMTMTS cast return to East High for season 4" . It's probably a massive coincidence, right? It is a common name after all. I scroll down when all of the sudden I'm staring back at a picture of the curly haired Joshua that I had met only yesterday.
