growing up

Nova woke up to the sound of her alarm as she turned to face Takashi. He was now officially two years old. He was a ray of sunshine in her dull life. Two years back her mother came to live with her and she watches Takashi when Nova goes to work.

Nova placed a kiss on Takashi's forehead and got out of bed. She walked towards her bathroom and wore a shower cap. She removed her pajamas and got into the shower. She washed her body with her honey and almond milk body wash and let the water wash away the access. She then got out turned off the shower and wrapped a towel around her body she took off her shower cap making her afro spring free. She applied her deodorant to her armpits and dried off her arms, legs, and torso. She then applied some coco butter lotion to her arms and legs after she brushed and flossed. She then walked out of the bathroom and to her closet as she sores a  simple black pair of lace boyshorts. She then wore a matching black lace bra. She then wore her scrubs.

She sighed as she wore her Nike white and black sneakers. She walked towards her vanity and applied some moisturizer and some lip gloss. She used some mascara on her lashes and then she took out her detangling brush and her brush. She took out her big pot of gel and combed her hair and did a side part. She used a small water bottle and sprayed her water wet and applied the gel. She brushed her hair down. She did her edges and a bun at the back.

She wore her pearl earrings and placed away her prices and she took out a satin wrap and wrapped it around her head to keep her hair in place. After she used some hairspray of course.

She then walked out of her room to the kitchen where her mother was. She was busy making some oats porridge for her and Takashi. She saw her daughter and smiled

" Morning baby girl you want some porridge ?" She asked as Nova came to hug her.

" Sure mama but I have to go in earlier today were short-staffed again," she said as she took her back bag that was sitting on the chair at the kitchen island. She made herself a cup of coffee she took her lunch which she made the previous night.

" Okay, will you be working late again ?" Asked Jenna as she scooped some of the porridge into three bowls. She added sugar to all three and some fruit to the Takashi bowl strawberries and raspberries.

" No actually I get off early today," said Nova as she added some cut-up bananas to her bowl.

" Okay cause I love my grandbaby but that boy is a handful," said Jenna as she sat down to eat.

" Ma you say it like you don't like taking care of him," said Nova as she chuckled at her mother's words.

" Girl don't you dare laugh at me your not too old for me to whoop that ass now eat your breakfast," said Jenna as she ate her bowl.

When they finished Nova said bye to her mom and got in her car and drove to work and Jenna tidied up the house. She then heard footsteps come down the stairs.

" Nanna " she heard and turned to find a half-asleep Takashi rubbing his eyes.

" Morning Nanas baby you hungry,?" Asked Jenna and Takashi nodded he held out his arms and Jenna picked him up. She placed him on her lap as she fed him his porridge.

" Nanna, where's Mama?" Asked Takashi as his Nanna was wiping his mouth.

" She went to work do want to go to the park today ?" She asked Takashi who nodded excitedly.

" Yes Nanna but I need to pee real bad let go," said Takashi as he dramatically tried to get out of his grandmother's arms

" This lil boy " she sighed as she let him go as he rushed towards the nearest bathroom.

" Good day sir my name is Nova Jameson I'll be your nurse from now on till your recovery," said Nova as she stepped into the room.

The man laying In the bed was a handsome Asian man. He was slightly tan and had a beard. His body was muscled she could tell and he looked like he wanted her dead.

" I don't have to be here let me go," he said as Nova checked over his information.

" Mr Tanaka I'm sorry but you have to stay in this facility for three days till you are classified as safe before being discharged," said Nova as she felt the man's eyes drill into her. What's wrong with this guy?

" Mrs. Jameson I'm perfectly fine just discharge me and I'll pay you more than you'll ever get from this job," said the man.

" First of all, it's Miss Jameson, and no bribery will not help you get out of this hospital," said Nova as she readjusted his blanket.

Suddenly her phone rang lucky her break had just started.

"Excuse me," she said as she turned away from the man.

" Hello Ma what's up "

" Girl don't talk to yo mama like that anyway my grandbaby wanted to see you," said Jenna as she sat down on the blanket. Takashi heard his grandmother call him.

" Hi Mommy," he said with a smile showing off his dimples.

" Hey baby what are you and Nanna doing "

" Picnic!" yelled Takashi excitedly. She chuckled as she saw his mouth had chocolate all over.

" Mommy misses you, baby," said  Nova as she saw Takashi eat a strawberry.

" I miss Mommy too but Nanna says we have to go now bye Mommy," said Takashi as he blew her a kiss.

" Bye Takashi," she said as she kissed him.

Nova walked out of the room not knowing certain someone heard everything since he got it on the bed.

" Takashi," he said as he was here for the same reason they found a lead that he was here. In a small town.

" I have to get out," he said as he pulled out the needles of the drip and then sneaked out of the room.

When Nova returned she saw he was gone and went to report it. But they could do nothing since the man was healed.

In the following days, he was spotted around the town and Nova completely forgot about him.
