"Daya hun wake up!"

Alejandro let out a sigh and rubbed his temples in frustration due to his daughters heavy sleeping. Her left foot hung out of the bed as her sock was rolled halfway down her foot and a strand of hair in her mouth whilst she snores lightly. Alejandro then grabs the duvet and snatched it back as the cold air circulates his daughters messy bedroom.

"Daya!! I'm going to be late for work!"

Alejandro yelled at his daughter as her body shot up from the sudden noise.

"What time is it?"

She mumbled, small beads of water erupted from the corners of her eyes as she yawned.

"08:00. You have school in 50 minutes and I have to get to work now so don't forget your laptop and have something to eat before you leave"

He instructed as she nodded her head. Still waking up, she stretched her arms out as her dad put his police hat on, his uniform coat hanging on his right forearm as he smiled at his daughter.

"Yessir"

His daughter joked as she saluted him, a chuckle escaped his lips as he ruffled her messy brown locks before heading to the door.

"Right I have to go now but I'll see you tonight"

"Bye dad"

"I love you, Nara"

Dayanara giggled at the nickname her dad used for her, she shook her head before speaking up.

"Te amo pa"

After her father left, Daya shot her body out of her bed and heads to the bathroom. She washes her face and brushes her teeth before applying light makeup and taming her thick latina locks. Daya returned to her room before grabbing a white hoodie off of the back of her desk chair and a pair of black cargo pants out of her drawers before throwing on her tattered black and white Jordans. She tossed her laptop and stationary in her backpack and ran out the door with her phone, headphones and keys in her hands and an apple in her mouth as she locked the front door behind her. Daya ran through the streets of New York on her way to Midtown High before slowing down once she ran out of breath after a few blocks, she felt a hand on her shoulder— making her jump as she turned around to see her friend Zoe.

"Hey best friend!"

Zoe greeted her as Daya let out a sigh of relief with her hand resting on her heart.

"Bitch! You scared me"

Daya cursed out at Zoe let out a giggle in response as the two continued to walk to school.

"So how's that job going?"

"Zoe it's an internship i'm not paid for it"

"Well that's fucking stupid you're doing work"

"I guess..."

"Aren't the police after Spider-Woman? It's been a year how come they haven't caught her? How hard could it be?"

The girl pondered as she placed a finger on her chin in thought as she tripped over on a crack in the pavement. Daya let out a cackle at her friend in response.
