Chapter Thirteen

Fort Lauderdale, Fl

Charlotte

I wake up to Marilyn tracing random patterns on my hip. I turn around, and his arms immediately envelop me, pulling me close to his chest. "Last night was amazing," he says in that sexy, just-awakened voice.

"Mmm," I murmur before leaning up to kiss his lips. "It really was."

His arms tighten around me as he pulls me closer, deepening the kiss. "I didn't hurt you, did I?" he asks, concern evident in his voice.

"Nuh-uh. It was fantastic," I reply, stretching on top of him.

We've been wrapped up in this cocoon of pleasure since we checked in late last night. I feel my cheeks flush at some of the things he did and made me say. Before him, I never would have even considered anything kinky. Now, he has me craving it.

Breaking free from his embrace, I roll out of bed, much to his dismay.

"Where are you going?" he groans.

"Tonight, I'll be meeting your parents. So, of course, I've been stressing over the menu," I explain. Marilyn has assured me that his parents are Midwestern at heart, so I figure a delicious meatloaf will be nice.

Taking off his Charles Manson shirt, I sling it at him. "It's almost one, Mr. Superstar. We're due at your parents' in two hours, and I still haven't decided what I'm going to wear."

"My parents aren't going to care what you wear," he huffs in annoyance.

With my back turned to him, I say, "This is the first time we're meeting. I want to make a good first impression."

"Trust me, they're going to love you whether you're wearing diamonds or a paper bag," he reassures me, coming up behind me and placing his warm hands on my shoulders, sending shivers down my spine.

Turning around, I pull his face down to my level and give him a quick kiss. "I love you when you're wearing nothing at all."

He groans as I head into the bathroom with my suitcase to get ready.

After some deliberation, I finally settled on an outfit that felt just right. Blue always boosts my confidence, so I went all out.

As we pull into his parents' driveway, I take in the charming scenery. It's a quaint little blue home with white trim, adorned with pink flamingos in the flower garden under the bay window. Stepping out, I'm greeted by the sight of an older woman opening the door.

"You're here!" she exclaims excitedly, rushing down to embrace Marilyn tightly.

Bending down to hug her quickly, Marilyn introduces me, "Hi, Mom. I want you to meet Charlotte."
