Dale and Ian met each other at school, they've been dating for 5 years now. I wouldn't say a straight five years since I already said that they are/were an on and off couple, Meaning they broke up multiple times and back together again.
Dale fell first, But Ian fell harder.
The day they decided to introduce each other to each other's parents was on their 1st year.
Ian introduced Dale to her dad's first, At first, Charles was a bit hesitant on approving but Jeon his husband insisted.
When Dale introduced Ian to her Mom, She approved already. Dale wasn't surprised since her mom doesn't really care about her dating and stuff.
The only words Dale heard from her mom was..
"Congratulations to both of you, Hope y'all will last longer than we did" obviously still associating her relationship with someone in the past.
