Newcomer

Chugging sounds were all you heard for quite some time now, accompanied with the voice of other passengers here and there.

You were heading back home after doing several jobs across Fiore. Fairy Tail lives up to it's reputation of being troublesome and destructive wherever it's members go. In turn, Master Makarov got chewed out by the council and since no one wanted to take any accountability for their mess, here you were, having to clean up after everyone. Monuments, churches, the list goes on. 

By the time you were done with all theses chores, the Phantom Lord incident already happened.

There was still an hour remaining before you reached Magnoliaand as you gazed out the window at the moving scenery, you felt conflicted. On one hand, you know everyone made it out (relatively) in one piece but you couldn't help feeling somewhat guilty not being present when it happened.

A soft feeling on your leg snapped you out of your trance, however.

Kari: "...(Y/N)? Are you okay? You've been kinda quiet. More than usual!"

(Y/N): "Oh. Yeah. I'm just thinking about..stuff." 

Kari: "Is it about Phantom Lord?" The question catches your attention yet you don't answer, still looking through the window. She knows the silence is pulling her in the right direction so she presses the subject further.

You feel her standing on your legs and see her pointing a paw at you.

Kari: "Stop being gloomy all the time! Sure, we couldn't help today, but we can always do better tomorrow! So you better stop being sad!" She presses her paws on your cheeks, you try to move them off but she's gripping tightly.

You frown in slight annoyance.

(Y/N): "I'm not sad, though."

Kari: "Maybe, but i can tell you're bothered by something and i want you to stop!"

(Y/N): "You're going to keep doing this until i give in, won't you?" She nods brightly at you, while you sigh in defeat.

(Y/N): "Fine, i promise i'm going to stop feeling bad from now on." You respond with a hint of reluctance, but she buys it. "Can you at least wake me up when we get there?"

Kari finally lets go of your face and nods whilst you rub your stinging cheeks in irritation. 

 You close your eyes, drifting off to sleep, only to groggily wake up after feeling no more motion and your cat screeching in your ears to get moving already.

Kari: "(Y/N)! (Y/N)!(Y/N)! (Y/N)!(Y/N)! (Y/-" You quickly cover her mouth and get up, stretching.

(Y/N): "Yeah...I heard you the first time, don't worry." You say still somewhat drowsy and start heading towards the exit door, her following after you.

The Guild looked across at a flying chart that displayed 3 principal guilds: Tartaros, Oracion Seis, Grimoire Heart along with the smaller scale clandestine guilds they had control over. Lucy was asking Mira some questions about them when the doors of the guild opened. Master, who just came back from his meeting, informed them of the situation in more detail.

Makarov: "About those 'Oracion Seis'. We've been given the task of destroying them!" 

Mirajane: "Welcome back, Master! How was the conference?" The white-haired mage said innocently, everybody falling on the ground right after.

He soon followed with the news that other guilds would be joining the cause and that he had already chosen several candidates for the task. Before he could reveal their names, Kari bursts in, ecstatic about the new interior.

Kari: "Woah! Is this me or this place got bigger?" She flies around the guild, looking around the place, waving hello to the people below her.

Lucy looked bewildered at Kari and then turned back to Mira.

Lucy: "Who's that cat? She looks just like Happy!"Mira smiles brightly at her.

Mira: "Well, Kari happened to come out of an egg, just like Happy  did!" Though you  haven't seen her yet because she mostly stays near (Y/N)."

Lucy: "(Y/N)? Who's (Y/N)?" Mira pointed to the seat next to the blonde, as you suddenly appeared out of nowherse, which gave the celestial mage a quick fright.

 Lucy: "WHA-?! I didn't even hear or see him walk in!" She exclaims.

Mira: "He's pretty discret so i don't blame you." She replies, smiling.

You rested your head on the counter, mumbling incoherent words, but the white-haired bartender understood and handed you your favorite drink.

Mastercoughed to bring attention back to the matter at end and briefly announced the following candidates: Natsu, Gray, Erza and Lucy. He then stops, looking lost in thoughts for a moment as he looks in your direction, annoucing in a firm voice.

Makarov: "...And (Y/N)!"

That single sentence nearly made you choke on your drink, turning around with a mix of irritation and annoyance.

(Y/N): "I just got back here, and you're making me do chores again?! Are you serious-" Those were your last words before getting thrown into a carriage that was heading towards the meeting point.

You didn't bring Kari with you, not that you didn't want to, more so that she was too preoccupied by the pool of the new and improved Fairy Tail guild that she didn't notice you screamingg for help as you were forcefully put into the carriage. You just hoped this whole 'Oraceion Seis' thing would be a couple of thugs and you'd be back home in 2 or 3 hours.

You already knew everyone in the group, minus Lucy, so at least you went in this with people you were familiar with.

The ride ended a couple of minutes afterwards and you exited with the others. Erza opened the door yet the room was empty and the lights were all turned off. Huh, maybe we arrived earlier than expected? Looks like a good time to turn back and go ho-

???: "Welcome, Fairy Tail!" 3 voices shouted in unison, dramatically posing in the shadows as you sighed in anticipation.

"...Great."
