Chapter 3: A Sitting with the King

I stroll down the palace halls, reliving past memories, not wanting to go back to my post as it was extremely boring.

Next thing I knew, I was in Newtopia. A few days later, King Andrias requested a private meeting with me and pretty much "adopted" me. He got General Yunan to train me to become his personal guard, gave me my mask and uniform(to add extra ominous energy), and the Raven was born. Since no one wanted to cause this huge fuss that a creature from another dimension popped up one day in the middle of Newtopia, so they covered up the case, to be honest, they never told me how. But that's the reason I wear this mask, and why I am always so bored on shifts because I haven't really made any friends. In the past 2 years here.....Anyways, outside of Andrias, Olivia, Yunan, and the occasional Newtopian guard, I don't socialize often, when I get the chance because:

a) Andrias told me not to since my secret could be revealed, kinda sus since I was "tamed", but it did make sense since I was supposedly "one of the most dangerous beasts in Amphibia"(I'm not even joking that was literally what he said, then again he is kinda a drama queen or, more accurately, drama king)

b) Those chances are quite rare because in between guard duties, training, research on how to get home, and basic human needs, it's extremely hard to find time where you aren't exhausted and actually motivated to socialize.

(A/N: If you have great social skills, I applaud and admire you. You may fully ignore point c in this occasion.)

and c) Why would I, an individual who was born socially awkward, put myself in a situation like that where one embarrassing thing could haunt my few moments of piece for the rest of my life?

To be honest, this place was a real dream come true after the boringness of modern day tween life. Obviously, I am worried about my parents, even though they didn't pay a lot of attention to me, they're still my parents. At first, I naively thought that there could be a time difference between worlds, like in some of the books and tv I've read/watched. Unfortunately, those hopes went down pretty quickly after my first week of research. I just hope they've been doing ok, still moving on from me "running away" probably, or not.

BANG

The throne room doors swung open, startling me out of my thoughts.

"Great! Now I don't need to send anyone to go find you Ray-ray! (A/N: Cuz y'know? Raven? Ray-ray? Like Kikimora, Kiki?) Please, come in, come in. I trust that you and Master Marcy over are already acquainted?" Andrias booms.

"Yes sir" I nod quickly, quickly recovering, stepping inside, and closing the door behind me.

Marcy's POV

"Wonderful! Since you both are around the same age, Y/-i mean, Raven here shall escort you to your bedroom and act as your guide around Newtopia!

OMGOMGOMG!!! Did Andrias just accidentally leak the Raven's name?? And A PERSONAL GUIDE?!!!!! Who's a mysterious guard with a cool mask and an aloof, withdrawn attitude???This is just like those chosen one stories, where a person falls into another world, meets someone similar to them and goes on really cool and potentially life threatening quests, growing closer with time and then gets an entire found family and a really cool and attractive love interest??! Does that mean...I'm the main character??!!! OMGOMGOMG I'M THE MAIN CHARACTER!!!!

"Uhhh, Marcy?" A deep and audibly confused voice asked, seeming to be coming from far, far away.

"Sir, I can assure you, thanks to watching celebrity meet-ups back home on Mewtube, that this is a common human thing. She's not broken, and should be back to normal in a few seconds," said another, quieter one.
