Part 1

Jessica POV
I ran. Whatever was behind me was fast, and gaining faster. I started getting a cramp
It had been chasing me for what Seemed like forever. I dashed though the trees, hoping to loose it. Unfortunately it was smarter than most creatures I'd met in the woods. Every time I looked back to see were it was I would slow down or run into a tree. Leading the thing to my house would be dumb and dangerous for my family. I racked my brain thinking of any escape plan I'd used in the past. Nothing came to mind, I was to startled to do anything but run. I rolled under a log, my skirt catching on the branches. When I came up I looked back at a horrifying monsterus... what was it?
It looked like a lion but it's tail was a scorpion tail, and it had wings, leathery and shrivelled but wings. I don't know much about lions but this thing looked like it weighed at least 900 lb. The beast roared so loudly that it shook my jaw. It was nearly at the end of the log when crouched. Running was what I should have done but all I could do was stair in amazement and horror, as it got ready to pounce. It lunged. I forced myself to duck just as it would have clawed me to bits. I jumped onto the log and ran back the way we'd come.

Dashing through the trees I lost track of time as well as were I was. My foot caught a tree root and I was sent sprawling. The last thing I saw before going head over heals into water, was the lion thing looking at a small blue light. My ears popped and I was slammed into a rock then another, and another. I desperately clawed towards the surface, and was forced to take in a breath of water. It flooded my lugs. I broke the surface and was pushed down again. The dark water engulfed me, and everything went black.

Nathan POV
Beep beep beep! Monday I groaned and smacked my alarm clock trying to turn it off but it didn't work so I hit it harder and it flew off the desk pulling the cord unplugged. I rolled out of bed and did my morning routine. I put on blue jeans a black T shirt and a black hoodie. When my bag was ready I grabbed and apple and walked down Saskatoon sidewalk to school. I finally got there and walked to my locker people, snickered and whispered as I walked by. A group of girls laughed and pointed at someone I couldn't see. Luckily no one talked to so I grabbed what I needed and headed to first class, maths yay...not.
