Part 7

The girl got to her knees and we came face to face. She had brown hair and beautiful
hazel/green eyes. She was super cute that's all there is to say, except for the part that she had a green dress on, and a purple cloak with a brown sack. She was breathing hard and I resisted the urge to say, what are you wearing? Apparently she did not. "What are you wearing?"

"seriously that's the first thing you say when you meet somebody? Not what's your name? Or where do you come from? Like why were you running for your life!?"

"Hey I asked first," I sighed

"A Black T-shirt, a Gray hoodie and jeans happy?"

"No not really" she said looking over her shoulder.

"Are you going to answer my questions?"

"I was Running because I got lost maybe a week ago and had to run for my life because there was a giant manticore chasing me Then I came to strange town after I fell into a river and then I left the town and got kidnapped by some maniac and then I got away from the kidnapper until he saw me and I ran away, and I jumped over the stream, and here we are." She took a shaky breath because she had said all of that in like two seconds.
"No that's not usually the first thing I say to people when I meet them, my name is Jessica what's yours?"

"N-Nathan. How can you talk so fast?" I asked. Why did I say that!?

"How can you ask so many questions?"

"Sorry, I uh..." why was I being so stupid!? I put out my hand to shake and she took it. "Nice to meet you Jessy"

"Don't call me Jessy. Now I need to get out of here I'm still being chased."

" right follow me." I said we went through back alleys until we got to my house and snuck in through my bedroom window.

"What is this place!!!???" She wisper/shouted, with shocked expression.

"A city...?" I answered raising an eyebrow.

"This place is so weird," she said her eyes were getting misty from tears.

"Hey it's ok what wrong?"

"no, no it's not ok!"

"What's wrong?"

"I-I   I told you before I'm lost. This world is completely new to me. I went hunting for food and I'de been gone for a couple of days, not knowing how to get home. I didn't know what day it is when I got chased by a manticore and then I fell into a river and went to a town that I've never been to before and then I got kidnapped and now I'm here in this place with you!"

"Ok ok slow down" she was talking fast again. She was crying practically having a panic attack. I didn't know what to do I didn't know how to help her because I had no idea what she was talking about. "Jessy look at me. We'll get you home we just have to handle this one step at a time. First I'll get you some of my sisters clothes."

"She won't mind?" She sniffed, then mumbled under her breath "my name is Jessica,"

"She's not home right now she's living with my dad."

"Ok" I led her down the  hallway to my sisters room, and let her pick out clothes. She went to the bathroom to change. She came out in wide leg jeans and a purple sweatshirt with sneakers. 
"So where do you live?" I asked

"In the woods just out of a small town called Grosker bay,"

"Umm..."

"I don't live here! Where I live people wear cloaks and dresses and cary swards on them at all times and we live in log houses sometimes brick houses. We have giant people, eating monsters that chase us all the time, and we have a little monsters that lead us to our dooms! All I know is that I don't live here!"

"Do the guys wear dresses too?" I said trying to lighten the mood. She smiled a little.

"This is a very inappropriate time to make jokes, and No no, they do not." I laughed.

Jessica POV

Nathan was very annoying, but did managed to cheer me up a bit. Which was nice but I was still freaking out on the inside I was lost probably gone for quite a while. I didn't know how many days I was out and I was out when I woke up on the side of the river and I had been lost before I came here for two days-ish. My father was was probably worried sick. What if I never made it home? What if my father never find out what happened to me? What if my little sister Poppy never gets to know me? I grew up without a mom I didn't want her to grow up without a mom or a sister.It'll be ok I told myself and held back a sob. Without thinking I threw my arms Nathan's neck and hugged him. I cried. "Thank you," I said and pulled away. "Thank you for taking me here and for giving me your sister's clothes, you didn't have to. I was just there all of a sudden and probably seemed really weird. I'm so sorry."

"No no it's ok. It's ok I don't mind. Do you want something to drink? We have tea?"

"Sure thanks," I said with a sad smile. He got off his bed from where he was sitting and went to the kitchen. I followed him and sat down at the dining table.
