In the bustling city of Mumbai, there were two individuals leading separate lives, completely unaware of each other's existence.
Ram resided in a large bungalow by the sea in Juhu. He lived with his Jaan- Shalini, his brother cum friend Shardul, and other relatives.
Priya lived in a small flat in Vashi with her small family, her papa- Sanjay Sood, Mother- Anju Sood and her gorgeous sibling- Ritika Sood.
Ram was a practical businessman, while Priya was a soft-spoken dentist. Ram had a deep love for food, especially pizza.

Ram had a girlfriend named Kriti, who happened to be a model by profession. However, Kriti's feelings seemed to be driven by Ram's money and fame rather than genuine affection. Despite having a girlfriend, a loving mother, a supportive friend-brother like Shardul, money, fame and relatives around him, Ram felt a sense of emptiness, as if something was missing in his life.

Shardul's background was unique; he was an orphan adopted by Ram's parents when they visited an orphanage for donations. Ram and Shardul became best friends and stood by each other through thick and thin.

Going back in time, Ram had a wealthy upbringing as his father was a businessman in Shimla. Their(Kapoors) family was well-off, and they had relatives who were interested in their wealth. However, as time passed, Ram's father's health declined, and their business suffered losses. They had to use their money for his father's medical treatment. Unfortunately, their relatives turned away during their tough times. Eventually, Ram's father passed away when Ram was 18 years old.

After his father's demise, Ram, along with his mother Shalini and Shardul, moved to Mumbai with very little to their name. They faced financial hardships but Ram's determination led him to work tirelessly day and night, eventually building his own successful business empire.
As Ram achieved immense wealth, his relatives returned, hoping to share in his prosperity. Ram welcomed them into his mansion to ensure his mother wouldn't feel lonely. However, it became clear that they were only interested in his money and didn't genuinely care about them(Ram and Shalini) or their well-being.

Priya's life contrasted with Ram's. She was an innocent dentist who had a loving family – a caring father, a good mother, and a supportive sister.  She owned a small clinic in Goregaon, where she treated her patients.
She also had a boyfriend named Yuvi whom she loved deeply.

On the eve of New Year, Ram arranged a lively party at his office. Yuvi, who worked under Ram, was also present. Meanwhile, Priya eagerly awaited Yuvi at her clinic to cut a cake she had baked for him. Regrettably, Yuvi couldn't make it due to the sudden event. Unbeknownst to Priya, Yuvi had accepted a proposal from Alekha that New Year's party.

Later that night, Ram returned to his mansion to meet his Jaan, Shalini. Finding her alone in her bedroom, he embraced her and wished her a Happy New Year. Unfortunately, Shalini experienced a toothache, leading Ram to search for a dental clinic at the late hour. He stumbled upon Priya's clinic and, without knowing each other, they crossed paths. Priya treated Shalini, and in a gesture of kindness, offered Ram the cake she had intended for Yuvi. Ram, feeling hungry, devoured the cake, leaving a favorable impression on Shalini due to Priya's warm nature. Shalini started liking Priya in their first meet. Shalini couldn't exchange much words with Priya but whatever she did, it left a good impression on Shalini. After paying for the treatment, Ram and Shalini left.

Few days later, Priya found Yuvi with Alekha in a picture shared by Ritika. Upon confrontation, Yuvi heartlessly ended his relationship with her in favor of Alekha, Ram's business partner and friend. In truth, Yuvi was driven by his desire for Alekha's money and hoped she would invest in him. This revelation left Priya shattered, causing her to forsake the idea of love and close her heart to anyone entering her life. Immersed in her work at the clinic, she sought refuge from her painful past.
