The following week started out great because Amanda was back at SVU. It felt like things were looking up and I was slowly coming out of my funk. My best friend and one of my best detectives were back and I was doing normal things like dating Trevor Langan. Elliot had told me the last time I saw him that I was afraid of normal, so I wanted to prove that I wasn't, by gaining a personal life. Trevor and I hadn't had a second date yet, but we had talked on the phone and texted back and forth some. There was some flirting going on which did cause a low burning sexual desire in my core causing me to fantasize about doing more than kissing. My thoughts were interrupted when Fin came in and said we have a new case.

A young woman in her mid-twenties was found deceased in an alley next to a dumpster. It appears she was raped and strangled, so her case was assigned to SVU. She didn't have any identification on her, so she was a Jane Doe now until more information was obtained. I told Rollins and Finn to go to the medical examiner's office to find out any information from the autopsy and told Churlish and Velasco to investigate the scene and find out if there are any cameras in the area that may have captured the victim or a perpetrator. I attempted to work through the giant pile of paperwork on my desk while my team was investigating the Jane Doe case. My phone buzzed and I glanced over to see a text message from Trevor.

T: I have been thinking about you all day. Would love to see you again?

O: Sure, how about lunch tomorrow?

T: Can't wait that long, wink emoji, how about lunch today?

O: Ok, I will be free around 12:30.

T: Sounds good, will pick you up at the office.

I sighed and looked back at the paperwork. I was having a hard time focusing and kept feeling anxious about seeing Trevor again. He was nice to be with and I enjoyed talking to him, but I just didn't have that same excitement as when I thought about Elliot. I was angry at myself for feeling this way since Elliot was someone I could never be with, and I needed to move on. I told myself to just keep going out with Trevor and hopefully my feelings for Elliot would eventually diminish.

Trevor and I were having a nice lunch when my phone rang. It was Amanda letting me know that there was a DNA match in CODIS for the semen that was found on the Jane Doe victim. The DNA belonged to Jamar Finch who had a previous record of possessing and selling meth, armed robbery, and domestic violence. Amanda stated they had a home address and were headed over there now to talk to him. I told her to keep me updated and let me know if they needed back up since he was number one on the suspect list. Trevor could tell I was distracted and thinking about the case, so I ended up cutting our lunch short and heading back to the office.

My cell started ringing as I was walking through my office door.

O: Benson

A: Hey Cap, it's Amanda. Finch isn't going to be able to tell us much. Fin and I found him dead on his living room floor when we arrived. He has two bullet holes in his chest. ME is on his way to the scene now. I will let you know what he says.

O: Wow, ok, thanks Amanda. I was hoping he could help us ID our Jane Doe. Search his home to see if there are any pictures or evidence that he knew Jane Doe.

A: Got it Cap, will be in touch.

The rest of the day dragged on and I was anxious waiting to hear from my detectives any information on the case. I grabbed take out for Noah and I and headed home hoping I would hear something soon. I was just getting ready to head to bed when I heard a knock at my door. I was instantly on edge since it was late, and I wasn't expecting anyone. I cautiously looked through the peep hole and saw Amanda standing there with a worried look on her face. I opened the door with a questioning look and asked her if everything was alright. She had a file in her hand and said she had some new information on the case, and she had to tell me in person. I opened the door and ushered her to the living room. She sat on my couch, and I sat on the chair just across from her. I had a knot in my stomach from the look of anguish on Amanda's face. I have never seen her look so nervous to give me intel on a case so this news must not be good.

A: So, Liv, we did get an ID on our Jane Doe. Her name is Tanisha Williams, and she was Jamar Finch's girlfriend. We found a picture of her and Jamar in his home along with some mail addressed to her.

O: That's great that we have an ID. Why do you look so apprehensive?

A: Well, the medical examiner found blood on Jamar Finch's body that isn't his. It could possibly belong to whoever killed him. There is a DNA match in CODIS.

O: That's great. Sounds like we can close this case fast.

A: Well, it's who the DNA belongs to that is the problem.

O: Is it somebody I know? Who Amanda?

A: Elliot Stabler
