I

Everything was both quiet and loud. Warm and cold. All of it at the same time raked my brain without a single care. All I was attempting to do was wake up. Opening my eyes slowly, I was immediately being met with the sun's rays. My eyelids shut once more out of instinct. It hurt, but the need to look at my surroundings was more important than some petty exposure. I opened them again, before being met with a forest. Nothing about it was familiar. Hell, I had never even been in a forest before! There were trees, obviously, bushes, flowers... all the normal stuff. My heart rate began to race, and my mind became a foggy mess. 'Where the hell am I?!' Attempting to stand, my legs began to fail. They were incredibly cold and shaking as vigorously as the multitude of leaves surrounding my gaze. Using a nearby tree as support as eyes snapped from every conceivable direction. 'Am I alone? No... there has got to be civilization somewhere, right?!'

With that, my legs began to move. The direction wasn't determined. I just started walking. Hugging myself for warmth, I continued forward, not looking back. It was strangely breezy. Under normal circumstances, I wouldn't be as fidgety. But I had no clue where I even was. Finding myself at a riverbed, I kneeled down to watch the water go by. It flowed seamlessly, as it rightfully fulfilled its purpose. Cupping my hands in the cold body, I splashed it over my face, hoping that was enough to wake me up. Nevertheless, I was still in the forest, by a river, all by myself.

Suddenly, a twig snapped. I ceased all movement, hoping that it was my imagination or a small forest animal that wouldn't kill me. Turning to where the noise came from, I was met with a tall figure. It stepped away from the shadows of the trees. It wasn't human. A tall lizard, weapon in hand, moved erratically, confirming to itself that I wasn't a statue. That I was alive. Standing up slowly to not alert it, eventually I took off running into the river. It was right behind me. 'What the hell is that thing?!' I screamed mentally, ducking under a branch. However, I didn't continue to run. Instead, I pulled the branch into my chest, before releasing. It whacked into the lizard, as I continued to run. However, this situation was far from over. A horn sounded around me, which signaled others to do the same. Before I knew it, I was surrounded. Backing into a corner, I was knocked unconscious. 'This is it,' I thought, 'This is how I die.'

Unfortunately, something far worse was approaching. Something the more I tried to fix, the more broken and dangerous it became. That's why they always say: Never try to fix a broken mirror.

...

"Hyah! Hyah!" Pierced my brain as I flinched at the sudden noise. It sounded like an argument almost. There was two, no four of them at the very least. "Nesh once aul vian faen, ples neshanas etain!" I couldn't make out what they were saying.

"Oh, neshanas! Sal'm hungwah!"

"Ples neshanas babblcaw."

"Nievana va sa odl fae!" Was I opened my eyes, the first thing to come to my vision was a fire. It bristled beautiful, as its warmth encapsulated the area. Staring around, four men came into view. Though they had their difference, all were blond. Looking at each one made me realize something. One was clad in a blue garb, one had strange black markings that looked too familiar, one had markings reminiscent to the Fierce Deity, and the last a sail cloth around him. They looked so familiar and when everything came together, I yelled.

"Link! Well... Links rather! Why are there so many of you? This doesn't make any sense..."

"Sausau?" So, it wasn't just my sleep. They really were speaking a language I don't understand. First, I approached the one who spoke, Ocarina of Time Link.

"You're Time." Then I approached another, "That sailcloth makes you Sky." Continuing onward, "And because of the fur and dark colors, that means you're Twilight!" The back to the boy clad in blue, "That means your Wild!! This is amazing! And the Lizalfos are starting to make sense now!" Then I stopped myself. "Wait a minute, if you all are here, then... where am I?"

"Ceeca, ceeca. Woka depwa va eta?" Wild asked, dimming my hope. Sitting back down, my knees instinctually pressed up against my chest, as I tried to figure out what was going on. Lifting my hands up, I directed them towards myself.

"I... me..." I felt ridiculous, as if I were talking to monkey, but this seemed to be the only way. Crossing my arms into an 'X,' I continued, "Can't..." Then my hands moved to my mouth. "... Speak..." The men stared at one another for only a moment. Seeming not to understand, I did the only thing I could say in Hylian. Or rather sing. "En dajeuu nobe fundu/ tje futu kewenu sale/ en dajeuu nobe dufu/ tje futu nobe dezu dotfe." All I could pray for in that moment was that I wouldn't be seen as a threat. Sky was the only one to react, springing up from his spot.

"Siilen wa Tel' evaliir Ath Tel' arsurinya! Tel' arsurinya!"

"Cood si rellb Tel' arsurinya?"

"Si ha naeb! Jen woold si thro millentu siilen hinue aer?" They all looked back at me, trying to piece what little of a story they were given. A big misunderstanding. One that I wouldn't be able to fix. "Si's e pettr e Ai arsurinya."

"Clla Tel' ota becka. Sal kerradun sen're opi Arta siin." Before my eyes, I watched as Twilight shifted into a wolf, before disappearing into the woods.

"Where is he going?"

"Do depwa deesh si supariz wibbs hez at wofkana?"

"Neeshga, it es nok wibbs." Sky scooted a little closer to my figure, offering a baked apple. Reaching towards the delicacy, I smiled, before biting into it. The taste was divine. Sky never went away. He just watched. "Si eset hungwah."

"Thank you."

"'Thank you'?" Sky repeated back, with a strange accent to follow it.

"You really can't speak my language, huh?" I queried, staring down at the apple, before turning to Sky. Pointing to myself, I spoke slowly, "(Y/N)." Wild pointed at me and repeated the name, before I nodded my head.

"(Y/N)... donna swud re Hylia ta bow."

"It es Hylia, cwo ellma cor it xor?!"

"Hylia, you just said Hylia right?" I inserted, as the three men turned their gazes. I even caught Time's attention. Shaking my head, I spoke, "I'm not Hylia. (Y/N)." It wasn't getting through it seemed like.

"Woka depwa Hylia? Spanewash on neeshga?"

"Um... Spanewash?" I shouldn't had said anything at all. Their eyes lit up, smiles pathing their features. I had made the single worst mistake of my life, and I didn't even know it yet.
