Nothing In This World [NetJames]

Three.

It has been three days since the conversation with Net in the car. To be honest, James wanted to tell his best friend because they never kept secrets from each other. However, he couldn't find the right opportunity since Yim was constantly occupied with his new group project.

But today is the day; James has already texted Yim, who said he is free today, and they have promised to meet up later after their final class.

Net has been quiet since the two talked. It's not like James was expecting something from the man, but it's kind of weird since Net was the one who was eager to get to know him in the first place and even said he was interested. However, suddenly there is no communication? They even exchanged numbers, yet James hasn't received any messages from the man.

Immediately after the lecture ended and the class was dismissed, James went straight to meet Yim at the front gate, as they had made a promise to meet there.

"Sorry Yim, today's lecture was longer than usual" James says as soon as he meet Yim who has been waiting for him.

"It's fine, I didn't wait too long" Yim says.

"Let's go get some Starbucks" James suggests, he wants to find a place so that they can sit and talk.

Yim nods and says, "Nice idea! Let's go!" He then wraps his arm around James's shoulder and drags him towards the direction of the Starbucks. The location is not too far for them to walk, which is also the reason James suggested going there.

After they arrived, the two immediately went to order their usuals and then proceeded to find a table once they received their coffee.

"So what do you want to tell me?" Yim asks after taking a sip of his coffee.

"Wait how do you know that I have something to tell you?" James is surprised that Yim isn't clueless and knows that he has something to tell him.

Yim chuckles, "Babe come on we've known each other for years! Just through a text message I know you didn't ask me to meet up just to hang out but you have something on your mind"

Oh yeah, James forgot that he and Yim have been best friends since middle school. Their parents are close friends, and they support each other unconditionally. During middle school, James was bullied by another student because of his pink school bag. Yim bravely came to his defense, which brought them closer together. The following day, Yim showed up to school with a pink school bag as well, so James wouldn't feel alone. From that point on, they were inseparable. Despite pursuing different majors, they both applied to the same university and were accepted. James is grateful to have a friend like Yim and cannot imagine his life without him.

"Fine, you got me. I have something that I wanna tell you" James starts.

Yim nods signalling his friend to continue, "Keep going, I'm listening"

"So, last Monday, three days ago... Net came up to me and we chatted. He said he was interested in me and I told him he only have a month to impress me and if he fails or we get bored we'll end it immediately...” James stops to see Yim's expression, and prepares for any scolding because...

Yim looks confused and a little bit furious.

"Yim?" James calls because his loud friend is suspiciously quiet.

Yim blinked, "Wait, wait, wait! What the hell? Pause! Wait, let me rephrase. So that guy Net from the club came to see you?! Where and how? He then suddenly told you he interested in you?? You agreed and that guy has a month to make you fall in love with him?! Things are escalating so fast I can't keep up!" Yim exclaims with a mix of shock and disbelief, unable to process what he just heard.
