"Apparently, this used to be the home of the president of a company managing a local chain of barbecue restaurants."
"However, in July of last year, the mad cow disease breakout dealt a fatal blow to his restaurants so, he committed suicide with his family after they were buried under the vast debt."
"From then on, local rumours claimed the president's home was haunted, so the local school kids, college students from outside the prefecture, job-hoppers, and others would visit it as part of a "test of courage," and subsequently go missing, and the damage just continued to spread." - Utahime Iori narrates to Mei Mei and I.
"Rumours do tend to spread rather quickly around haunted spots." - Mei Mei
"They can spread at an unbelievable pace nowadays, thanks to the internet."- Mei Mei
Y/N's Pov |
I listened quietly to Utahime, as she gave us a background on this place, interesting really.
I thought to myself.
A test of courage huh?, Students will do anything fun and exciting, never thinking of the consequences, I wonder what happened to those who never returned home.My mind is jumbled with curiosity.
I hear Mei Mei, click around on her phone as I am looking out the car window, see the rain pouring down, the moving scenery is always beautiful, a bunch of blurs of colours and nature. Currently everything is grey and dull.
Mei Mei states how rumours spread even faster due to the internet.
The car stops at a crossing.
I agree, the internet is a fast paced world, we're practically updated on everything and anything.
"This all just means more work for us Jujutsu sorcerers is what you're saying Mei Mei" - Y/N I turn my head away from the window looking ahead at Utahime.
Mei Mei hums in response as she clicks away on her cellphone.
