    Eden Miller is barely conscious as her eyes flutter open. The only thing she can feel is the pain in her lower body. The only thing she can hear are the gasps of her best friends.

Her brain is foggy from all of the pain medication she's been put on. She's so aware of the fact that her body works that it's freaking her out. Has she always been able to feel her legs?

The fluorescent lighting of the hospital blinds her as her eyes slowly open. She knows her entire body and face is probably swollen. At this point, she really doesn't care. She's alive.

But at what expense?

Everything comes back to her as she stares into the eyes of her best friends. She can see both of the Carpenter siblings. She can hear Mindy's extremely loud voice. She swears she sees Kirby sitting next to her. Wait, maybe that's Gale.

"Oh, my God! Eden!" Tara throws her arms over Eden's body.

Eden whimpers as she hugs Tara back. "Hey, Tara." Eden slowly says. She can feel her lips moving and can hear the words leaving her mouth. Weird.

"Wow, you're really fucked up." Sam comments.

"Oh, be quiet." Eden shuts Sam up, rolling her eyes. "I feel perfectly fine, Samantha."

"Eden, you're tweaking." Another voice chimes in.

Eden's eyes widen as she stares into the eyes of her older brother. Last time she saw Cale Miller, he was bleeding out in front of her eyes. Ethan had been standing over his body, laughing wickedly.

Ethan, Ethan, Ethan.

"Cale?" Eden gapes, blinking rapidly. "You died—"

"Surprisingly not. I'm alive, supposedly."

"No—" Eden sobs. "I don't—."

Cale wraps his arms around his sister and chuckles. "Hospitals are a thing now, Eden." Cale explains. "I'm pretty sure they zapped my body alive."

"Shut up, you're so unfunny." Eden wails. "You're alive. We're alive. All of us—" Eden pauses when she remembers that Chad didn't make it out alive.

"Well, uh, actually, Chad's alive." Tara explains. "He's barely conscious right now, though. I'm surprised he made it."

"We're all alive." Eden shakes her head. "There's no way."

"Well, besides Quinn."

The mention of Ethan makes Eden's face pale. Even if he's dead, it makes Eden feel sick to her stomach. Ethan and Quinn are both dead. Same as Bailey.

Wait, just Quinn?

"Ethan's not alive, is he?" Eden sits up quickly, body numb. "No, please, no." Eden shakes her head. "I killed him. I— I stabbed him multiple times. How's he not dead?"

"He barely made it, Edie." Cale explains. "He almost did die. The paramedics saved him."

"No, no, no." Eden sobs into her hands. "I fucking killed him! I know I did! I watched him die. I swear—"
