He told me with dark eyes. I'll never forget the way my heart lurched with pain.

He was right. I can't save everyone. He was a prime example of that.

The one I wanted to save the most fell. Fell into depravity, lusting for revenge, plotting against the organization and his mother.

Hakuryuu didn't want to be like this, not able to think about anything but avenging his father and brothers. So when he rejected my feelings of love toward him it wasn't a surprise to me.

It was too late, my efforts would be in vain.

I...couldn't save him.

Realization shot through me as I sink onto the ground and shake violently with sobs.

By this time he is long gone fighting his battle for self peace.

Out of sight out of mind...

I just wish this rule applied to me.
