CHAPTER 01

+ The flash of the past

4:20PM

Half an hour pass, I couldn't sleep but of course what else to do rather than play angry birds on my I-phone lying against my comfy queen size bed but then again I couldn't stop myself from wondering off. Suddenly a scenario appears before my sight catching me off guard, when I thought, "What the," I stop awhile and began to observe.

FLASHBACK

The lights were dim, in the waiting room at the hospital. All I major to think was mother resting against the stretcher being taken inside the surgery room alongside follow by my father dress in the proper doctor clothing. Hours pass, my father came outside with the mid man comforting me, I'm assuming it be the original surgeon.

"Mr. Han, Mr. Hoods, we tried our best," he started off, then my father continued afterwards, "It wasn't enough to save her," he cried, while the surgeon patted his back soon his eyes lift upwards directly aiming on me. The little girl who lost her only mother is now the only child and I knew that he would try to explain that mom went to heaven, I quote he might say, "Honey, mom is a better place now, so try and your best to make her proud by accomplishing your dreams like she wants you too." I sat down there on the bench my sight glued onto him as he stood up straight, while the surgeon mutter something underneath his breath before approaching me strongly.

"Layla," my father smiled, like everything was already, when deeply it meant he was hurting inside like a rose scar with thorns.

I stared at him, "Daddy," then smiled but the curve on my lips began fading away as his face got more serious when he reaches his arms extending it and grab my shoulders bringing me into his chest and started hugging me.

"Lay, Layla," my father shaky voice, made me tremble a bit because it was my first time seeing him like this, "Sweetie, mom is died a while ago due to the terminal cancer within her brain," he informed resting his ford head against my right shoulder crying. As an eight year old, I did what I thought was best by ruffling my father's brown wavy hair and cheered.

"It will be alright for us, I promise daddy, there are many mommies in the world but the best one which is my mom, will be in heaven as an angel watching over us." I assured with my signature smile.

My father lifted off his ford head, watching me probably wondering that these words of comfort and realization came from an eight year old mouth, of course I wasn't any kind of timid-scare child that doesn't speak her mind. I was smart enough to give great advice to any teenager having a break up.

"You're right darling," my father sighed and gave me a kiss on my cheek, "We'll be okay, Layla just like you said, there's plenty of mommies in the world. I'm sure when you get older you'll have a new mom, it will be a gift of a brand you start in our lives."

I tilted my head to the aside and chuckled, "Whatever you say daddy, I'm happy." With just moment of saying these sentences years has gone by, and now turn sixteen on my birthday. Finally my father breaks the news of saying we're going to be moving to Paris to begin a new lifestyle.

"What are you talking dad? I can't live Seoul, it's my home, where I was born and raise and migrating to another country I don't jack shit about is just insane," I augured, literally upset shoving my bag pack off my shoulders my door way entrance.

"Layla, I know it's sudden but it's been eight years since your mother's death don't think starting all over we'll be good for both of us," he explained.
