"Alright kids, you got everything?" Mike said, quickly grabbing everyone's attention, after setting up their tent with the help of Ashlyn.

"Yes Dad, you made me double-check everything, like, four times," Ashlyn said with an eye roll,
"Well, I just want to make sure that the next time I see you guys, one of you won't be skewered on top of some tree," Tyler giggled at Mike's remark, while Ashlyn gave a huff of defeat.

"l suppose that's our cue to leave Mike," Emma said stretching out the 'I', shutting the trunk door of their jeep. "Remember, you kids have our phone numbers if you need, after all, we aren't that far away from the campsite, mkay?" Emma said, getting a nod of understanding from the group, after some quick goodbyes the adults set off, and the group was left to their own devices.

Tyler, despite his objections, actually really enjoyed camping. Before his dad died, Tyler and his family would go on these 'monthly adventures', which would usually result in camping, further explaining Taylor's abundance of excitement.

The campsite wasn't too shabby, Tyler thought. Only a 15-minute drive away from Ashlyn's house, was a beautiful field surrounded by trees, and a path through the forest where a decent-sized clearing resided, which is where the group had all decided to pitch their tent, and where'd they set up a bonfire for later.

Tyler loved the old tree smell, paired with the midday humidity of summer, it all felt very nostalgic for Tyler.
Memories of splashing in the lakes, rivers, and creeks his dad would bring him and the rest of his family too on these adventures, quickly came flooding back into his mind, though it didn't bother him, he truly felt like a child again in that small moment of solidarity, reminiscing about old times and staring off into the pinewood trees.

Suddenly, Taylor came and excitedly dragged him to swim with the others in the lake out by the main area.

Tyler complied with an annoyed facade and got changed into his swimsuit before letting Taylor drag him off to the lake, after all, he loved his sister too much to say no, heck, she's the only reason he even came on this stupid trip. He had to make sure his sister was safe, that was all, right?

Quickly, Tyler snapped out of his thoughts after being sprayed in the face with lake water. It was Aiden who'd sprayed him, of course, it was Aiden. A thrill of playful excitement rushed over Tyler as he began to chase after the blonde mischief, spraying him with his water gun.

As he's chasing the weasel, his ears catch on to a certain someone's voice,
'... Is he.. Laughing?' Tyler thinks for a split second. He slows down and looks over to the rest of the group who are watching Tyler chase after Aiden by the shore, and he then locks eyes with none other than-

"SPRZZZTTT" Great, he's been sprayed, again. At least the cold lake water kicked him out of his thoughts. "Haha!! Keep up, half-wit!" Aiden begins to run away, cackling like a witch. 'Feelings can wait after I beat Aiden. Keep it together, Tyler'. Quickly, Tyler gets back on track, sprinting after Aiden and tackling him into the water.

A day filled with laughter, splashing, and water gun fights quickly ended as the sky became a reddish-orange with a gradient of light blue, the temperature started to drop and everyone got changed into comfier clothes rather than soaking wet swimsuits. The bonfire was then lit shortly after everyone got dressed.
And so, the evening began.

Embarrassing stories, revealing secrets, and humorous laughter filled the air that evening, although Tyler was more than content to just sit back, watch and listen to his friends laugh the night away, but, there was just still one thing that was bothering him.
