Amara's pov (･ˇ∀ˇ･ゞ)
I nodded towards the guards as the door to my mansion opened up. I parked my Porsche 911 targa sakura, aka Amore mio (my love).
No one was allowed to touch my car, It was one of things I was very protective of.
My men got out of their SUVs and I made my way towards the door, where I was greeted by the person who took care of my house, Mr haruto.
He has been with us since the last decade, and he's the nicest person ever for someone who looks intimidating.
Giving me a big smile he said "Welcome back! Hope you guys are hungry" immediately the excited chatter for food began.
I gave them a look, stopping the noises in a second. "We still have to figure out the baby situation".
As soon as I said that, Xavier and Matteo made their way to the front with the baby in their hands. Mr Haruto gasped in awe "is that a baby?" The baby smiled and waved its tiny hands in front of him.
Immediately Mr Haruto melted and held the baby in his arms, making weird noises.
This baby is making everyone like it, is it a spy? Maybe it is. I looked at it suspiciously before shaking my head.
"Dai, spostalo ragazzi!" I yelled to make the distracted men move (come on, move it guys) "board room, now."
"Sì capo"
Everyone scurried towards the board room, I looked at Mr Haruto who was busy tickling the little shit.
"Mr Haruto, see if the baby is hungry, and if you need some baby stuff, ask Enid to get it." He nodded, grinning.
I rolled my eyes at everyone's behaviour today.
Everyone looked at me in anticipation, ready for the plan. "You were all filled up on the details of today's events. The kid being there is no coincidence and we all know that". Everyone nodded in agreement.
"Shayna, look into the family's details, I want to know every small detail" She nodded. Shayna is the best hacker I have ever known, the short red head was gorgeous and kept to herself.
"Erik will help you." Immediately she looked up, her dark brown eyes sparkling a lot more and I could see her blushing.
I looked at Erik who was already looking at Shayna while trying to not smile.
I couldn't help but scoff at the obviousness of their attraction towards each other but both never wanted to admit it.
"Just fuck already" Matteo said being dramatic.
Shayna blushed harder and Erik Just flipped him off.
"Okay, Torna all'attività (back to business), Matteo set up a call with the Russians, I want to know if this was their dirty trick and if they say shit, let them know there will be consequences."
"Yes don."
I looked at Xavier "go to different orphanages and see if any of them recognise the baby, and ask what all paperwork they need to give a kid to an orphanage" hearing a gasp, I looked towards Matteo "You're going to give the baby to an orphanage?" I was confused as to why this was a big deal, I nodded.
"You can't do that!" "Why not?" I glared at him.
Xavier responded "I think what Matteo is trying to say here is that the baby is not older than 1 and we don't know how the orphanage treats the kids".
I raised an eyebrow "that's why I'm making you check the orphanages, Xavier"
I could see the gears turning inside Matteo's head before he screamed out "1 month!" Everyone looked at him confused. "I think we should keep the baby for 1 month"
"and why should we do that?" He paused for a second before moving towards the whiteboard.
Matteo started drawing a weird looking figure holding a.... hot dog? "This here is a baby" everyone chuckled at that, earning a scoff from him.
"Going through Multiple orphanages will raise suspicion about our company" he drew many stick figures holding squares which I'm guessing were supposed to be cameras.
"The press will immediately be on it and there will be millions of rumours about you, overall it will become a huge deal. It's better to keep the baby with us till at least a month while looking through orphanages slowly" he ended his little scheme, the whiteboard looked like someone threw ink on it.
Ignoring the horrible drawing, I focused on his plan. It was obvious he just wants the baby to stay for a longer period of time but his argument was a good one.
He looked at me with a pleading look and for a sec I felt a bit of warmth inside me and I sighed before giving a small nod.
He jumped with joy before running towards me with his arms open, I immediately moved away and he stopped.
"Oh sorry, I got too excited".
Shaking my head, I left the board room while Matteo's excited squeals echoed throughout the hallway.
A small smile made its way on my face.
