Part One

I haven't seen much Sally, so why not?

——————————————————

(No one's POV)

It was normally a quiet night in the inn just on the outskirts of Home. Tony, full name Anthony Appeal, was quietly cleaning the empty glasses left by none other than Sally Starlet herself. The town diva was known by Tony for coming in and drowning her sorrows with large, frothing mugs of ginger beer and venting in an intoxicated state about how her plays always seem to fall flat of absolutely stellar. Occasionally, one of Tony's six little siblings would even ask her to sing before she started expanding her tab yet again.

Tonight, Tony himself was nursing on a glass of scotch when he heard the star enter the inn yet again, a sunnier disposition than she normally came in with. She sat down, and instead of ordering the first thing that would knock her out, started with a drink Tony never made outside of Valentine's Day— the Couple's Cherry Popper. It was, in actuality, a San Francisco cocktail with cherry powder dusted on top, which would slowly dissolve in the drink to give it a pleasant, fruity aftertaste.

"Ms. Starlet, I don't know if you've never read our menu before, but that's, like it says in the name, a drink for two. You have someone waiting for you?" Tony said, starting on the drink as he normally would. After all, the tips were still tips at the end of the day. Sally laughed, swatting her hand and shaking her head. He raised an eyebrow, smiling at her.

"Oh, goodness, no! I figured that someone like you has been living such a lonely, dreary life, it wouldn't kill you to have something so delightful with someone as delightful as a star like me." She said, in her usual play-directing voice. It was when she finished her claim, Tony's twin siblings, Gabriel and Gabriella, had run into the bar and set up a game of pool for themselves, giggling as they started to play.

"Just don't cheat, either one of you!" He called out, before turning his attention back to Sally. "Ms. Starlet, I'll be happy to let you know that running this inn is its own little adventure, especially with so many little ones around me." He joked, pouring the drink in a heart-shaped mason jar. Sally, In turn, raised an eyebrow at the bartender.

"Oh, so they're yours?" She smiled in a sly, cheeky way before laughing. "You look like you've seen a ghost, don't be so shocked! Normally, your tan always looks like you came home from a tropical vacation! And don't even get me started on your hair, it's so thick and wavy! Such rich brown hair and eyes on you, you know that?"

Tony blinked. He was used to being told these sort of things, but that was normally when the customers were wasted out of their minds. Sally didn't reek of booze, at least, not as heavily as she normally would when she left for the night. Tony crumpled his nose at the very faint, yet still apparent, sting of vodka that trailed off the minor celebrity. His brows furrowed as he looked at her and looked at the red convertible that was parked next to his motorcycle.

"Sally, have you been drinking before you got here? And you literally drive! Do you have any idea how many lives you'd just put in danger just by coming?!" He said, keeping his tone even but the disappointment and disapproval apparent in his tone. "Plus, how'd you even get the alcohol? Howdy may have a retail license, but he hates, and I mean hates, drinking. He's never had a drop of liquor in his store." Tony looked at her the way his dad would look at him when he was in trouble.

"Oh, you know! Julie's parents send her bottles and she gives them to me every now and then. She's super chill about it!" Sally said, Tony sliding the Cherry Popper between the two of them and putting in the heart straw that he never understood the concept of. "Why are you looking at me like that? It's not like I had the whole bottle, just a few shots!" She said, taking the straw and starting to sip the drink herself. Tony finished his own drink and looked over at her, starting to clean the glass.

"I don't think I feel quite comfortable serving you tonight, Sally. You need to learn to sober up. And don't think you're leaving, either. I don't trust you to drive when you're not clean. You'll stay in the inn tonight." Tony said, cleaning off his own glass, Sally whining in response, the way one of his siblings would when they couldn't stay up all night with horror movie marathons (mainly because Tony would wake up with the twins in his bed and they wouldn't wake up until noon).

"But Tony," Sally stretched out the 'y' sound of his name, resting her cheek on the cool quartz bar top. "I'm completely fine! Ooh, this is good! What's inside of it? Vodka? Liqueur? This isn't a whiskey drink." Sally droned, passing out with her arms outstretched on the counter. Tony sighed, rolling his eyes and whistling shrilly for the twins, Gabriella taunting her twin brother over her victory before the two walked over to their big brother.

"What's up, Tony?" Gabriel said, his twin sister poking at Sally's big sleeve. He looked over at her, before looking over at Sally herself. "Oh. I see. Do you need Maya to move her, or maybe Alejandro could throw her out, or...?" He said, looking over at Tony. He took a minute to consider each of the options.

"Call Maya. Move her to my room. I really don't trust her anywhere else in the inn, and it's probably better that I don't." Tony sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose and looking at at the two of them again. "Thank you. You guys can go back to playing pool when you're done. Dinner's at seven." He said. The twins scurried off, Tony putting his attention back on Sally. He sighed again, looking over at her and shaking his head.

"What on earth am I supposed to do with you?" He muttered. The Cherry Popper was finished, too, the straw in Sally's fingers. "I've had my fair deal of heavy drinkers, but you? I never thought you." He brushed some of the hair away from Sally's face, waiting for his sister to come get the town superstar and get her laying down on a couch.
