The day is scorching hot. Sweat is trickling down through the narrow canal of my breasts. Liz is squeezed between me and Urvasi and grinding her teeth real hard. Trying her best not to snarl at our teacher who is clearly making it a big deal by telling her to repeat the word 'Nauseous' until the pronounciation is correct.
"It's naw- zee- uhs .Repeat again".
Our English teacher is in his mid fifties with a short height and a permanent quirky expression on his face. His thick brown framed glasses are perched on the tip of his nose as he winces and judges Liz for pronouncing it wrong again.
On the other side, the boys' eyes are glinting as they concentrate in the front where a book is seen laid but it's for outer surface. They have porn playing on the phone screen. That's what they always do when teacher is not focusing on them. Khalid is grinning like a kid while Animesh is moving his hand in the most shameful way possible in the air, mimicking the act with the most indecent expression spread over his face. If he continues the air will soon become pregnant. Ritesh slaps Animesh's arm playfully suppressing his laugh. Khalid obviously feels my gaze as he looks up straight to my eyes and I blush. I look away as always.
Dip is concentrated on his phone while Sudip is goggling over the phone as a teasing smile forms on his lips. I can bet ₹1cr that he is texting Swati, my best friend.
We all huff as teacher takes his leave. I soon pull out my phone.
*One missed call from Swati*
"Come on let's go. I have a lot to say to you". Liz tugs at my arm as I shove the phone to the side of my backpack.
"Uhh I have some work. You go." I say hoping to avoid the matter. Liz's eyes narrow. Of course she senses after all she's my bestfriend too. I try to pull out the most innocent look as I smile. Which confirms to her something is fishy.
"Are you hiding something from me?" She jiggles her brows.
"No". Lie.
She nods as she advances towards the exit of the house. I wish I could tell her the truth. Disappointment is clear in her eyes. I half smile awkwardly. My phone dings as it breaks me off my thoughts. It's a text from Swati.
Swati:- is everyone gone?
I take strides until I am on the balcony of Dip's house where wind hit my face ruffling my hair into a mess. I peek down as I see Dip is talking to Anish and Khalid. Others have left.
My fingers graze over the screen rapidly as I text back.
Me:- I'll call you within few mins.
I exit from there as I see Sudip taking stairs up while skipping two at a time. He notices me as he goes "everyone's gone. Call her".
Dip soon leaps up to the upstairs as he nods and tells me to give her a call.
I call her. One ring goes as Swati picks up.
"Hello" I say.
"Hello" her voice comes out more like a whisper.
"Everyone is gone. Come fast." I croak. My heart picks up it's pace. Adreline rushes through me.
"Yes but wait for me outside." Swati says, unsure yet excitement is there in her voice.
I nod as if she can see me.
"Ok" I keep it short.
"Hmm." She says as the line goes dead.
Dip comes out of the room. Sudip is trailing behind him. I nod to them, a gesture for 'i've got it'.
