"You are crazy!"
Jungkook had lost count of how many times he'd heard that in the last few months but more so recently. Maybe he was crazy but he was going to go ahead with his plan anyway. He was a 25 year old backing singer, fresh from a world tour and the moment he stepped off of the plane four months ago he'd decided he wanted to find his soulmate. Jungkook was a romantic, he wanted the fairytale, he had a checklist as long as his arm and that list had grown with every date he'd been on since returning home.
"You're too fussy."
That was something else he'd heard a lot but he was convinced that there was someone out there for everyone and his 'someone' would tick all of his boxes. He was on a mission to find that person and he was determined to do that.
And that's when his seven day plan was invented.
Up until now, he'd dated weekly, sometimes twice weekly but the only thing he'd succeeded in was to make his list of DW (do want) and DNW (do not want) longer. So, he decided to ramp it up and while he had some free time he would go hardcore...
... two dates a day, every day for a whole week!

That's what his Mother told him, even if she did agree with most of the things on his list and even if it was her fault that he was a hopeless romantic. Jungkook didn't think it was too much to ask because everyone had similar lists in their head, he was just brave enough to carry his list with him. A date was an interview of sorts, wasn't it? You were using the time to decide whether you were right for each other, whether that person was the type of person that you would one day invite to move into your home and share your life with. A date was a life interview and there were certain criteria that needed to be met. Jungkook could appreciate that there were people out there that wouldn't find him attractive and probably had their own criteria. He was a good height, toned in an athletic way, his hair was quite shaggy and he had tattoos and lip piercings. Not everyone liked tattoos, especially a whole arm covered in artwork down to his hand and others weren't keen on piercings but Jungkook could respect personal choices.
Jungkook was adventurous with food but selective with restaurants. He'd found a favourite establishment since being back in town and that's where he'd be taking his dates. He liked the restaurant because it did a brunch as well as a lunch and the evening menu was a choice of three set menus which saved so much time wasted when two strangers stare at a menu silently. A set menu was a basic representation of his life. He liked routine and organisation and he wanted to make time in his life for that special person. The restaurant staff were all really approachable and friendly which added to the overall vibe and made it a comfortable environment to be in.
MONDAY - Day 1
Lunch and date #1 was 4/10. He'd dressed smart casual as was his plan for all dates. A simple teal jacket with crisp white tee and jeans. He'd taken his notebook in his small Calvin Klein reporter bag, which he put under his chair. He didn't yet know his checklist off my heart but he's sure that would happen at some point.
The waiter with the lovely smile showed him to the table where he was the first to arrive and soon after he was joined by date #1 who was a petite Spanish international student living in Korea. Conversation was interesting but she was returning to Spain in 16 months time and she yawned a lot. It all felt pretty pointless and it was two hours that he would never get back.
