( Manuel and Fredrick spend a lot of time together for a few days before the day of the trial, they went on dates, and Frederick still brings lunch to Manuel but not every day like he used to. Inside Manuel's office he was talking on the phone with Frederick )

MANUEL: you sure you don't want me there? Going to the police station can be nerve wreaking ( he smiles at the sound of Frederick's laugh)

FREDERICK: you have an important today. You have been working on it for days now and with the time we have been spending together I know you stay up late at night just to get your work done.

MANUEL: I don't mind staying up all night if I could get to spend more time with you. Being with you is what I love most and I'll like to be by your side today.

FREDERICK: I would love that as well but today is important for you the most. Frank, Finn, and Mom are here with me you have nothing to worry about. I promise I'll be with you by lunch and bring your favorite cake to celebrate the signing of the contract

MANUEL: how do you know we'll get the contract?

FREDERICK: have you meant my boyfriend?
(he said in a serious tone. They laugh) you are the most hard-working person I know and you love your company. No other person deserves that contract than you.
(Manuel smiled. He felt so happy )

MANUEL: thanks, I promise I'll give you a reason to celebrate.

FREDERICK: I know you would. So don't worry about anything thing, we get this.

MANUEL: I think I just got myself a personal cheerleader ( they started laughing then Mrs. Ortiz barged into the office )

Mrs.ORTIZ: what the hell is the meaning of this (she shouted. Manuel looks at his mother )

MANUEL: call me when you are done darling ( he hangs up)

Mrs. ORTIZ: are you out of your mind, and did I just hear you call someone darling?

MANUEL: hello to you too mother. Why are you hear? ( Mrs. Ortiz throws her phone to him, Manuel caught it and looks at it, he saw pictures of him and Fredrick) why on earth do you have these pictures? Did you send someone to spy on me?

Mrs. ORTIZ: yes, because I don't want you to destroy my company with your nonsense. Do you know what will happen to the company if this gets out? Of everyone you could fool around with you decide to go for a boy now I know you are just as useless as your father.

MANUEL: are you done?

Mrs. ORTIZ: what?
(Manuel stood up )
MANUEL: let me get this straight Mother, what I have with my boyfriend is not nonsense whatsoever, what I have with this beautiful man you see here is way more important than anything you could think of. And I've worked way more than anyone in this company for me to ruin it. ( Mrs. Ortiz was surprised she has never seen her son this before )

Mrs. ORTIZ: this could ruin this company and our family's reputation do you think that the board of directors would agree for you to take over once they found out about this?

MANUEL: I'll cross that bridge when I get there. And you don't care about anyone but yourself Mother so stop acting like you care about the family. I'm not your husband so don't ever compare me to him again.

Mrs. Ortiz: if you are not like him then why are you doing this? I made an easy way for you to get all that you want but instead, you decided to throw her in prison and stay with someone that would ruin everything. Why won't you listen to me?

MANUAL: Dad has always listened to you, but look at where that got him, under-appreciated and less valued. That woman almost killed my boyfriend she deserves to rot in prison. Now if you would excuse me I have an important meeting to get to. ( he deleted all the pictures from her phone and gave it back to her) and Mother.

Mrs. ORTIZ: what( she said angrily )

MANUEL: if you ever send someone to spy on me again I'm going to sue you for invasion of privacy. ( he picked up some files and walk out of the office )
