Jay went on a walk after he watched Isabella drive away. As much as he hated it, she was right about telling her. She had the right to be upset because he should've told her when it was safe enough. He thought she wouldn't want to talk to him anymore after her birthday, but he just wanted the best for her. Without knowing it he walked back to the spot where the carnival was. He remembered the day he left her like it was yesterday. It haunted him, yet he never told anyone what happened after he left her.

6 years ago, he drove back to his house after he got a hold of his emotions. He drove to his personal house which was going to be the new headquarters once he became the new leader. He didn't know that his father wouldn't recover from his previous job and had to turn over the leadership to him. He had planned out his whole life before he had to turn over. Instead of breaking up, he was going to give Isabella a promise ring, with the intention of proposing. He still had the ring with him, and since he couldn't give it to her, he put it on a silver chair she gifted him and wore it every day. It was her favorite gem, garnierite in a princess cut with the band covered in small diamonds. He knew she was going to love it because it was her dream ring. He pulled the necklace from under his shirt to look at the ring again. He was determined to win her back, no matter how long it took.

He went to his parent's house ready to take leadership. When he got there, his mother told him that he was needed in Italy and the private jet was waiting for him. He didn't say anything to her, but she knew the pain that was coursing through him, all it took was one look at him. His world was flipped upside down and he couldn't think of anything else to do. He went to the hangar and got on the plane. He stayed silent and eventually fell into a restless sleep.

All the retired leaders of the De Luca family were waiting for Jay. He didn't know but they found his older brother and it was his task to prove his loyalty to the family. The raid his father went on was a trap set by his brother since he turned his back on the family. Once he arrived, he saw his brother tied to a chair.

"What's this?"

"This is your test. We all know your brother turned his back on his family, his legacy. Leaving you to fill the void when the time came. He ambushed your father, which is why you are being called to take your place as the heir. The test is simple, prove your loyalty by killing your brother."

Jay looked around, looking at his elders. He found his father in a wheelchair, clinging to life. He closed his eyes and accepted his fate. Kill or be killed. He didn't make his brother's death quick and easy. It was slow and painful, but it was for all the pain he caused their family. It was also to send a message to anyone who wanted to turn their back on family. After killing his brother, he cleaned the blood off him and changed his clothes. His elders greeted him with open arms and named him the new leader.

Back in the present, he knew he wanted Isabella back but to go back to his plan that he came up with those years ago. With the determination to get her back, he walked back to his car and went back to his house.

Once he got to his house, he got a call from one of his workers at the club.

"Hey boss, you might want to come down here. We have company."

"I'll be there in 20 minutes, call Ashely in."

"Got it."

Jay hung up the phone and sighed. After last night, he knew they would have company at the club, but he didn't want a repeat.
