Chapter 1 ~ A Terrible New Beginning

Glenn Rhee, Rosita Espinosa, Daryl Dixon, Michonne Hawthorne, Abraham Ford, Maggie Rhee, previously known as Maggie Greene, Rick Grimes, Sasha Williams, Aaron, Carl Grimes, and Eugene Porter all were being forced to sit on their knees in that order and watch as Negan Smith, the leader of the Saviors gruesomely murdered their friends and family. First Abraham was killed to set an example to hopefully teach all of the others not to fuck with him again. He took his bat, which he had named Lucille, up to bash his head in. Abraham's blood splattered onto Maggie's face. Negan then took his favorite girl around the half circle of shocked, sad, and terrified people, having everyone take a good long look at Abraham's blood all over the nailed-up wooden bat. He swung Lucille back and forth until a chunk of Ab's blood and brains landed directly across Rick's bearded check.

Negan continued to walk around the circle of people with the tip of a blood-covered bat being stuck in everyone's face, and making sure all of them got a good whiff of the intoxicating strong smell of iron in the garnet red dripping blood. Daryl Dixon is a man who cares deeply about those he loves and will do any insane thing to protect them. Looking around and seeing the mortified looks on the faces of his loved ones, something in him snapped. Before anyone could blink an eye, Daryl was already on his feet charging full force in Negan's direction. Unfortunately, Negan's men were able to get to Daryl after only he was able to land a single strong but good punch right across Negan's face.

An infuriated Negan then spoke, "Oh, no. That? Oh my! That . . . is a no-no. The whole thing--not one bit of that shit flies here. Do you want me to do it? Right here." Daryl now back on his knees, was barely able to mutter a no along with a grunt in response.

"No, you don't kill them . . . not until you try a little. And anyway . . . that's not how it works. Now I already told you people--first ones free, then--what'd I say? I said I would shut that shit down! No exceptions. Now, I don't know what kind of lying assholes you've been dealing with . . . but I'm a man of my word. First impressions are important. I need you to know me. So . . . back to it." With one quick, swift and sudden motion, Negan lifted Lucille back up over his head and brought it down nice and hard onto Glenn's skull.

That one hit busted Glenn's entire head open. Blood was dripping and flying anywhere and everywhere you could imagine. The barbed-wired covered baseball bat was even able to take out some of his skull. It took out so much bone to where his eye was able to just fall right out because there was nothing there to support it anymore. Somehow someway, Glenn was still hanging on with every fiber in him even his flopping-out eye. All that was running through his mind was that his barely pregnant wife Maggie had to sit there and watch as her husband and father of her unborn child were being beaten to death with a pathetic excuse for a bat.

But of course, Negan being Negan just had to poke fun at the very serious situation at hand. "Buddy, you still there?" Negan had crouched down to his level at this point. "I just don't know. It seems like you're trying to speak, but you just took a hell of a hit," referring to the movements of his mouth and the blood spattering out of it. "I just popped your skull so hard, your eyeball just popped out, and it's gross as shit!"

Glenn, still staring sadly at his poor sobbing wife, was surprisingly able to stutter out the words, "Maggie, I'll find you" with all of the blood oozing out of his mouth. This cute but depressing sentiment caused the soon-to-be widow to sob a great deal more. She couldn't even bear to look at her now-diminished husband like this.

Sounding truly sorry and apologetic stood Negan, "Oh. Oh, hell. I can see this is hard on you guys. I am sorry. I truly am. But I did say it. No exceptions!" Having said this, Negan raised his bat just to aggressively bring it back down onto Glenn's head once again. He repeated this motion multiple times until all that was left of Glenn's skull was a puddle of blood, brains, broken pieces of bone, and his eyes. With every strike called for more and much louder sobs echoing from all of his friends, but mainly his wife.

Not too long after Negan had finished bashing Glenn's head into the ground with Lucille, he retrieved Rick's small ax from his right-hand man, Henry Simon, more commonly referred to as Simon. Then Negan had dragged Rick to the RV that Rick and his group had been driving previously. Just before opening the door he remembered that his daughter, Iris was stored away inside. Negan feared even the slight possibility of Rick's group figuring out that she was his one and only weakness but he wasn't about to risk her safety by bringing her along to traumatize Rick even further.

"Hey uhh-Simon," Negan started, turning his head slightly towards him. "Watch Ry and take her away from them 'til I get back. Got it?"

"Yes sir," Simon replied before opening the RV door to get her. "Hey Iris, are you ready to go beat me at another game of hide-and-seek with violence?"

Rick and his group, still trying to recover from the sudden deaths of their dearly beloved friends and family Glenn and Abraham, all looked up at the mention of the new unfamiliar name. Some members of the group exchanged a few looks of shared confusion. Maggie, unable to comprehend anything more, continued to cry over her late husband who now was just a messed up body on the ground with a puddle of still-fresh blood and brains where his head should have been.

Breaking the silence, out walked Iris taking a rather large bite out of a shining green apple saying, "Not really, but let's go anyways."

Iris was a young girl who looked to be about 14 years old. She had medium-length dark brownish hair with bright bottle-green eyes. She appeared to have a small figure but it was hidden well under the protection of a large black leather jacket that belonged to her bold and ruthless father Negan Smith. Iris also wore her favorite hat that her mother had given to her before she died. The hat was black with a fancy "D" written in white on it. Her shirt was unsurprisingly black paired with a nice pair of cargo-like jeans.

The young girl, Katherine Iris Smith followed Simon as he walked to the back of the crowd. Rick's group continued to stare at her as she walked past, completely unfazed by the horrors going unnoticed right in front of her face. Negan on the other hand, watched the young girl walk away as a proud father with a slight smirk on his face realizing how confused everyone else must have been.

Immediately after the 6'1 man lost sight of his precious little girl, his grip on Rick's arm tightened and his stare became as cold as ice and as hard as stone as he threw the Rick Grimes into the RV. The seemingly heartless man took Rick to where a man was hanging off of a bridge surrounded by a herd of walkers. Negan decided to throw the ax out of the window and have Rick go get it. Rick barely survived and Negan shooting at him from the cover and safety of the RV wasn't making it any easier.

A/N: I wanted to write more, I just didn't want to try and describe the rest of the episode or so based on only memory and I also just really wanted to get this chapter done so I can start thinking about how I want chapter two to go...
