"Ugh.." Carl groaned. Carl was a boy who was in sixth grade. He had an older sister whose name was Anna, who was in ninth grade. The reason of his groaning was because he was on an airplane trip to Italy and his sister was snoring as she was asleep right next to him. Even the man right next to her seemed to be disturbed so that he just completely acted like she was not there and will never be. His parents were right behind them. His father was muttering something to his wife. Carl was at the window seat. He could not believe the situation he was in. "Italy is my dream place!" he used to say. He stared off of the horizon. He fell asleep. Then, He heard something like a low rumble of whispering. Then he caught some words. "Malfunctioning... It doesn't seem that serious, he says..". His heart sunk. What did that mean? What kind of malfunctioning is happening here? He wondered for a little bit and finally said to himself, "It is not that serious.... Perhaps they are talking about recent engine failure of some other planes, not this one. Or not, may be I should just make sure and wake this annoying one up." "Anna... wake up... They say there's something wrong..." Carl whispered in a worried voice. Her snoring grew louder as he tried to wake her up. The man continued to look disturbed by the snoring. "What's wrong?" his mother said. "Mom, I think I heard the plane has a problem.." Carl said desperately. "Well. is it serious?" she said. " They say that it's not that serious..." he said. " Well, then why do you worry?" his mom said. After a few minute passed, the man, extremely annoyed, said to himself about how people can choke to death by snoring. The food cart came and he was handed water. At that moment, He heard a cracking noise and the plane started to tilt sideways. The water sputtered all over Carl's face, but that was nothing to worry about compared to the emergency occurring now. The pilot said through his speaker, "The plane is going through a severe turbulence. Please do not take off your seat belt please, ladies and gentlemen. Even if.." the rest were cut off with the thunder striking viciously at the plane's side and a buzz from the disconnection. There was a squeak which made everybody wince or twitch and cover their ears. Now, Carl could see the scariest sight of all. Out the window, where there were clouds and the bright sky, was now with storm clouds and ferocious purple and white lightnings igniting the fear deep inside his heart. He was alarmed and turned around for mental help from his dad. His father wasn't helping him mentally. He was white as a chalk and was nervously rolling his eyes right and left every single second. A pitiful moment. Although father was anxious, his mother was calming her husband down. Then, with the deafening crash, the plane fell onto the Atlantic Ocean. The screaming people plummeted down to the water. The lightning crashed open the airplane's side as it was 15 feet above the Ocean's rippling surface. Carl, Anna, and the man sitting with them out of sight.
