The sun slowly rose up from the sky, the sun beaming down into Mi-hi's eyes. She covers up her face with one of her arms and grumbles thinking it's too early to get up.
But then she sat up rubbing her eyes realizing that it wasn't just a dream that when she woke up he had really been in the meadows and not at home in her bed. She sighs to herself thinking about not being there with her family.
She sniffs the air smelling something familiar. Oh that's right Jihoon is here he probably made something to eat. She smiles sweetly thinking of her Soulmate that she had just met last night.
"Good morning Mi-hi!" Jihoon waves cutely at her making her smile really big from seeing his presence.
"Did you make something?"
"Oh yeah— about that" he nervously laughs. "I just went to go get some food now we have some bacon" he excitedly said with a huge grin on his face.
"A wisp who can hunt? That was unexpected"
"To be fair it's mainly for you, Wisps don't technically have to eat unless we just want too" he said and chuckled a bit thinking of how cheesy the first part actually sounded.
"Here take some" he holds out a piece just for her. Mi-hi makes her way to him sitting on the next rock beside and opening her mouth letting Jihoon feed her almost as if she was a baby bird. Cute
"Oh wow that's actually really good, your a really good cook as well" they both laugh together.
"It's nothing really" he insisted but Mi-hi kept complimenting him until his face got a little pink. She thought he was too adorable.
They both end up finishing their food having a decent meal for the day. Thanks to Jihoon that was very much possible.
——
Mi-hi stood up walking over to her horse patting its head and giving her a couple more apples so she could have enough energy for the day.
"Shes been real quiet ever since I got here" he wondered if it was because of him or because of something else.
"Maybe shes just afraid?" I wonder if theres more to this than what meets the eye.
Jihoon wonders the exact same thing it's like the horse knows something that they don't but what could it be exactly? He gets up from sitting on the rock making his way over silently with no sounds to startle the horse.
He walks beside Mi-hi glancing at her curiously but also hesitating at the same time whether or not he should touch the horse. She quickly notices his hesitance, grabbing his hand softly placing it over the horses head with hers on top of his, they could feel the soulmate bond between them lingering with the most comforting feeling ever making her smile.
The horses only reaction to this is she snarls for a moment before Jihoon closes his eyes somehow calming her down. She seems to like this. Maybe that's apart of his powers as a wisp?
"Oh no.."
She looks over at Jihoon curiously but also a bit concerted as her smile slowly fades away. She hope's it isn't too bad whatever the case may be.
"What is it?" Her voice soft and yet calm. Jihoon sighs and looks into her brown eyes not sure in a way on how to say this to her.
"She— your horse I mean senses something dangerous heading our way.." he pauses for a moment before continuing. "I'm not exactly sure what it is but from the way shes reacting it's not good at all." He frowns
"What?"
"I don't know but we shouldn't stay here any longer. I don't want you to get hurt Mi-hi" he gives a soft and yet sad smile.
"Well then let's hurry up and pack" she states grabbing her bag and packing away the left over food.
Jihoon helps unfold the tent placing the cloth onto the horse and putting out the fire before hoping on. Mi-hi cleans up the rest and takes what she needs for the rest of the adventure.
They think they are safe for now but what they don't know is that whatever is coming for them is very much near already.
Mi-hi hops onto her horse and doesn't really say much the silence not one bit uncomfortable for the both of them.
Jihoon is behind her leaning against her back. He is very happy to be with her to be able to spend time with one of his soulmates but he was also worried at the same time. He knew from what he could tell that Mi-hi was a very strong and independent person he truly knew that but she doesn't have any powers unlike him and that's what got to him the most. She could seriously get hurt and he would blame himself for not protecting her properly.
He wraps his arms around her waist hugging her tightly very protective, closing his eyes feeling very sad. The bond between them becoming stronger and stronger the feeling spreading throughout their body's, they can feel each other. Jihoon knew what she was hiding, she is hiding the fact that she is just as scared as he is right now.
He never really noticed they way her hands trembled when holding onto the reins until he looked over, it was the way she held herself together without him knowing how she truly felt. He felt even sadder that he didn't know. He hoped that in the near future she would start to become more open with him to be able to share how she feels no matter how embarrassing it is, he just Hope's.
But for now his goal was to solely keep her safe and sound.
——
Jihoon starts to feel strange he doesn't know what's happening to him. The palms of his hands don't look exactly normal to him compared to before. His palms were now blue. "What in the world?" He mumbles to himself now becoming more worried.
It was like all his senses were trying to tell him something, anything at all. He looks around the meadows looking for something unordinary something that screams it shouldn't be here.
He looks all around hoping that nothing is there but his Hope's shatter when he spots something gigantic in the background from what he could tell it had huge horns something that could tear the both of them into pieces and it was running on two legs but it definitely wasn't human at all.
"Mi-hi! We have to hurry!!!" His voice cracks.
Her heart sinks at his words, she knows what's happening she just didn't think it would be this soon. She hits the reins going as fast as they could now. To make things even worse for them her horse was frightened, the snarling wouldn't stop.
The only thing Jihoon could think of was to use his power to calm the horse down even just a little bit, it wasn't much but atleast now they could atleast focus on getting out of there as quickly as possible.
