Слава is a historical fiction short story. I wrote it for my English/Language Arts class in school. It's based on events that really happened during World War II, but I've created my own characters to experience these horrors.
This project took hours of research, and came out to be a little over 3000 words. I've worked hard on it, and hopefully you've liked what I've written. Of course, I'm here to please my readers!
Слава is pronounced "slava", and is what part of Vladislav's name is based off of. Slava, in Russian, means glory. I thought it was sort of fitting, as during the Second World War a lot of Jews lost the glory they had worked hard for. They were normal people like you and I, so how come these hard-working, kind people were chosen by Hitler to be tortured and tormented? Perhaps we'll never know the true reason, because the answer lies buried six feet under with Adolf Hitler and all the Jews he brutally murdered.
In memory of the six million Jews killed during the Holocaust. May your souls never be forgotten. Rest in peace.
