in an attempt to make his daughter get out and have fun rather than being cooped up in the house, mr. l/n signed up y/n to a sleepaway summer camp. to her despair, it was for a whole five weeks. she did not l...
"it is hour 3, im currently losing all hearing in my left eye and sight in my right ear." you tiredly said to oikawa and iwaizumi on your facetime. they were calling you for the last goodbyes after your call with kenma, who youve grown quite close to.
"you're exaggerating, your camp wont even be that bad." iwaizumi says, eyes focused on his laptop. he was finishing extra homework that he was assigned but did not do.
"be so for real right now, i wont have any friends and ill be super bored. i dont even like outside activities that muchhhh." you whined to him. your parents were driving you to your summer camp, which made you seriously want to jump out of the moving car.
"you can make friends, and that is a serious sign that you need to leave your house more often. even if you dont, you can probably find a way to call us."
"says you, you stay inside all day too. how is that any different? besides, im terrified to call people in public spaces"
"at least i play sports."
"at least i have a life."
"shut up, y/n" he said.
"hey, dont tell my bestie for the restie to shut up, iwa, thats not nice," oikawa pitched in, finally saying something, although it barely went through. he was lagging really bad since he was driving back from a hiking date on a mountain.
"yeah, hajis a big meanie!"
"you guys talk like youre five."
the three of you chatted away for the rest of the car ride, cracking jokes, making fun of oikawas shitty wifi, creating bad pickup lines for iwaizumi, and having a comfortable silence as you scrolled on tiktok and they did their stuff. as you approached more videos about the nair catastrophe, the car came to a stop, making you jump.
"we're here, honey!" your dad announced, walking out of the car to go grab your luggage. you groaned and picked up your backpack, slinging it onto your shoulder.
"goodbye my old friends, we will see each other in the next life." you said to the screen, wiping a fake tear from your eye. the two men stayed silent, as iwaizumi waved bye and oikawa put his head down. as you were pressing the "leave call" button, you heard a loud, wet, disturbing hiccup.
"toru, what are you doing right now...?" iwaizumi asked in complete confusion. you too, was raising an eyebrow in confusion. you watched as oikawa raised up his flushed, teary face.
"y-y-y/n, i-im gonna miss youUuuUUuu!" he sobbed, throwing his head back down onto his steering wheel, creating a loud honk. as you thawed out of shock, you giggled.
"toru, im going to miss you too-oOOOOooOOo!" you said, starting off strong, but ending up breaking down as well. iwaizumi genuinely did not know what to do, watching his two best friends crying, red faced, and only sighed, shaking his head.
after a few minutes, you finally calmed down.
"guys," *sniffle* "i love-" *hiccup* "you, but the journey-" *sneeze* "must go on...." *big sniff* "goodbye, toru and haji- AHH HOLY SHIT A BUG FLEW UP MY NOSE! OK BYE LOVE YOU MWAH MWAH!" you screamed, hanging up quickly. it was a little fly that accidently got caught in the wind of your sniffling, and was now stuck in your nose.
"sweetheart, hold still." your dad said, getting it out.
"thank you dad, but dont abandon me here, please." you widened your eyes, begging him.
"y/n l/n, you will go to summer camp." your mother said, crossing her arms.
"but ma-"
"close your mouth right now young lady."
"ok mom 😞" you said, sadly. she pecked you on the forehead as you trudged your way into your cabin.
"bye sweetheart! have a great time! make sure to text us! remember to brush your teeth! remember to sleep! remember to breath! we love you so much, have fun!" your dad called out from the entrance, smiling from ear to ear, one arm around your mothers waist and the other waving super fast.
"bye mom and dad, i love you guys too!" you looked back, smiling and waving.
as you stepped into your cabin, you noticed five other girls, sitting on the floor and talking. you also noticed a counselor putting your bags down.
"hey, are you the last girl in our cabin? come sit down! we're just introducing ourselves right now!" one of the girls said, looking at you. you smiled and plopped down in the empty space that was created by the other girls scooching over.
"sooo, whats your name?"
you smile widely and slightly wave your hands.
"hi guys, my name is y/n!"
