James took me by the arm. "James I'm fine! Let me go!" I screamed at him as he dragged me to his car.
"Mark, what the hell. I trusted you to keep her safe!" James screamed at Mark ignoring every word I said. Carolyn stood up, and had her chest puffed up, as if it were to protest in my defense but James ignored her too.
Mark must've been hyped from the adrenaline of beating the shit out of Sebastian or something because he actually stood up to James. "Where were you? You weren't around to see the bad assery that happened. Your sister got caught in the crossfire of a fight and I take full responsibility but your sister is a complete bad ass. I wish you could've seen her." James face stayed straight, and tightened with anger. "Will you please just let her go for the love of god?" Mark begged.
James gripped my wrist tighter, "Let's go, Katie." I tried to pry his hands off of my wrist but it was no use. He dragged me into the car and I felt like I was being arrested for a crime I didn't do.
"James, please let me go." I begged him. He just started the car and left. We spent the ride home in silence as I glared out the window. Once we arrived home I just ran to my room. I didn't want to look at him. What an ass. It wasn't Mark's fault, if anything it was Sebastian's. I received a text message. Instead of looking, I tossed my phone. I wasn't in the mood. I plopped on the bed. I decided to stare at the ceiling. Eventually after what seems like forever I passed out.
The next morning I awoke to being shaken. I didn't open my eyes, instead I grumbled and turned to lay on my chest, shoving my head under my pillow. "Katie? Sweetie? Wake up." I heard my mom's voice coo. I groaned and pulled the pillow tighter. "Katie." I knew she must've really needed to talk to me if she persisted this much.
"What?" I grumbled, feeling as if I were a zombie of some sort, I pulled the pillow off of my head and spun back around to face my mother.
"Honey, Mark is here." I shot up.
"Why is he here" I ask her, still sitting on my bed.
"Don't you remember sweetheart? We have to take James to his college and get him settled in. So I called Mark so you wouldn't be lonely." my mom said cheerfully.
"Well, might as well go down there....." I trail off, beginning my long trek downstairs.Mark's Pov
I knock on the door again. Are they up? They said be here at nine...The door opens and I'm greeted with Katie's mom's overjoyed face. She lets me in and tells me Katie is slowly walking down stairs. She looks like an adorable snail......
"Goodmorning my little biscuit!" her dad explains to her. My little biscuit..... Hmm I've gotta use that sometime......"What the hell is he doing here?!" I hear James say angrily. Fuck me, up the ass, with a pogostick.
"Remember James? Mark is gonna keep Katie company over the weekend while we're gone." Her mom said, gritting her teeth slightly.
He shook his head. "No, I don't trust him here with her." he said bluntly.
"Sunshine, stop over exaggerating. I'm sure Mark would ever let anything happen to Katie, he's her best friend." Her mom said sternly.
"Fine, but if she gets hurt again I'll kill him. And if he tries to pull anything it will be slow and painful." James threatened. I don't want it to be slow and painful.
"You can trust me, James. I won't hurt her." I spoke up.
"Not that this conversation isn't lovely, but we should get on the road if we want to make it there on time." Katie's dad told us, breaking the long, awkward glare between James and I.
He walks up and pulls Katie into a hug. Then as he walks by me I hear "I'm watching you." in my ear. Um can he please not?
As they leave, I look over to Katie. She's staring at her wrists, where there was a little bruising from how hard James grabbed it. Ok operation distract attention: Initiate.
"I bet I can beat you at Mario Ms. Swanson." I mocked, drawing out my words a little.
"Dream on Rageaholic!" She mocked, running to her living room to play games.
Why is she so hot?
